I was totally flabbergasted today when I saw this arcticle in my newspaper. The state is considering charging doctors, on average, $50,000 per year for a medical malpractice fund. Yes, that’s right, FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS per year, per doctor. This is on top of malpractice insurance premiums which average $47,305 for OB/GYN’s and $35,238 for Orthopedists.
This is what happens when liberal politicians control a state. We constantly hear about the “national health care crisis”. So rather than do anything to help make health care more affordable what do they do? Impose an enormous tax on the health care industry, of course. I guess if you put all the doctors out of business health care will be really cheap. They keep the trial lawyers happy and they are confident that the voters of their state are too stupid to throw them out of office.
Locally we are paying a little more than $1.03 in taxes per gallon of gas, about $4000 in property taxes per $100,000 of assessed value and over 8% sales taxes. We also pay among the highest health insurance premiums in the nation. When are the people of New York going to say “Enough is enough!” and stop voting against their own interests?
