Nancy Pelosi is calling on President Bush to release oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to stabilize prices. She just doesn’t get it. Is this her response to the American Solutions petition to drill here, drill now, and pay less?
Rather than retrieve resources from our own land, Nancy Pelosi wants to take our reserves, which are set aside for emergencies or disruptions in supply, to try to rig oil prices. This has been tried before and it didn’t work. Even if it did work it would only bring relief for a brief period of time. This will do nothing to reduce our dependence on foreign sources of oil.
It is amazing how these so called representatives can be so wrong, so often and continue to get away with it. In the mean time Iran continues playing their dangerous games and we still aren’t doing any more drilling, building any new refineries or nuclear plants.
I watched a segment on CSPAN2 last night where the Rep. from the 5th dist of Iowa and a Rep from Pennsylvania (whose dist I didn’t catch) were talking about Pelosi’s and the other dem’s feeble minded ideas or lack there-of. We are in real dire straits and that’s no joke! Did you know that natural gas is set to increase 45 to 60 percent this winter? Now besides our oil crunch we’re going to get screwed on the gas. No surprise that we already pay the most in the world for that resource too but apparently that’s not enough either. Is there really a natural gas shortage or are they just hopping on the price gouging bandwagon as well? Maybe people should start marching on congressmen and womens homes with pitchforks and torches. Maybe if their safety and livelihoods are threatened they’ll start listening because they certainly don’t care about ours.
