Dick Durbin on profits- “there is a limit”

On Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace (transcript) Dick Durbin was asked about Obama’s plan to impose windfall profits taxes on oil companies.

DURBIN: Because they have reported record-breaking profits, not just for oil companies, but for American businesses. The amount of money that they are taking in in profits at the expense of families and businesses and farmers and our overall economy are absolutely beyond anything historically.

And what we’re saying is there’s a limit.

So here’s a surrogate for the Obama campaign, talking about the economy and saying there should be a limit to the amount of profit an American company can make. Why do we re-elect these politicians? Don’t people understand that if a politician can decide how much one industry or individual can make, they can do that to any of us? Where will they draw the line?
