Tom Brokaw admitted that his colleagues’ breathless cheerleading for Barack Obama has been over the top. He should be mad, they’ve totally let the cat out of the bag. Don’t they know they aren’t supposed to be so blatantly obvious?
“I think Keith (Olbermann) has gone too far. I think Chris (Matthews) has gone too far,” the veteran NBC newsman said at a forum sponsored by Harvard’s Shorenstein press center. But Brokaw said that they are “commentators” and “not the only voices” on MSNBC and that viewers could sort it out.
He was responding to criticism from Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, a Hillary Clinton supporter, who declared at the forum that “MSNBC was the official network of the Obama campaign.”
CBS’s Bob Schieffer defended the media’s reluctance to cover John Edwards’s extramarital affair, saying Edwards’s candidacy was over and “I don’t see that we have time to be fooling with this.”
But ABC’s George Stephanopoulos noted that “the level of the coverup here was kind of astonishing,” and Brokaw expressed concern about this question: “What if it had been Mitt Romney? Would the press have gone after that story more aggressively?”
If it had been Mitt Romney there’s no doubt that the press would have gone after the story like attack dogs. What’s most astonishing is that Stephanopoulos even brought it up. He must have figured they better do something to salvage whatever credibility they have left.

It may be a free press, but not an unbiased press…..more dangerous than a free press, especially if it’s 90% far left, and 75% of the people watching/reading don’t have a clue.

I BELIEVE T. JEFFERSON SAID WE HAVE A CHOICE OF NO INFORMATION WITHOUT THE PRESS, OR MISINFORMATION WITH IT. I’D LIKE TO TRY THE FIRST ONE NOW THAT WE’VE TASTED THE SECOND.
