NBC coverage of Democratic National Convention

I watched NBC’s (National Barack Channel) coverage of the Democratic National Convention. I had Tums, ginger ale and saltine crackers to control my nausea. I watched for you, my dear readers, so you don’t have to. I think I had more fun at my appendectomy, but that’s another story.

Update #1: Brian Williams described the “thunderous applause” for Ted Kennedy. Then I listened to Ted Kennedy’s speech for the second time in one evening.  Ann Curry followed up telling us “You could feel the electricity of the crowd.” David Gregory  said that Michelle Obama had a “heavy hand” in drafting her speech. Uh Oh. I hope she has an editor. Andrea Mitchell could barely contain her urge to smile when she mentioned the nomination ceremony later this week. Chuck Todd said the Democrats are all Teddy Kennedy fans, and Teddy’s the great unifier so everything should be a-okay.

Update #2: Brian Williams and Tom Brokaw had a nice chat. They don’t think the division in the Democratic party is that big a deal. Brian Williams said the convention is a four day info-mercial for the campaign. That’s funny, the Obama campaign has been running an info-mercial on news broadcasts from the MSM for at least one hundred eighty days.

Update #3: Caroline Kennedy gushed about Senator Blowhard, I mean, Biden. She said that the man who has worked in the private sector for less than 5 of his sixty-five years will help attract working class voters.  Brian Williams reported that Michelle Obama’s brother went to Princeton before Michelle. This was just after Ann Curry said Michelle Obama wants Americans to know she’s just like us. Chuck Todd said Obama’s trying to connect with small town Americans who really are just like Obama, they just don’t know it yet.

Update #4: Michelle Obama’s brother explained why his little sister is so bitter, she was only allowed one hour of television each night. He talked about how she gave up a great job to work in the community. She must not have told him about her cushy new job at the hospital. That’s understandable, seeing that she’s so busy lately.

Update #5: After what seemed like an hour of applause for Michelle Obama she finally spoke. During her speech the camera frequently zoomed in on the faces of crying women. She said everything you’d expect, but when she spoke of the “least among us” she failed to mention Barack’s brother. All I can say is it’s a good thing I wasn’t playing the drinking game “Drink when you hear the word Hope” or I’d be under my desk.

Update #6: Chuck Todd said Mrs. Obama said America or American 12 times! He didn’t mention how many times she said hope.

I am not all togehter shocked by the MSNBC coverage. I guess I have never left the channel on long enough to see what a joke Chris Mathews and Keith Olberman really are. Thank god for remotes and cable, I was quickly able to turn to FOX and all was ok again. MSNBC is a network I will never again turn to!
