After four days of one tired old Democrat speech after another, like a breath of fresh air, Sarah Palin strode onto the national stage. During the week of the anniversary of women’s suffrage, Senator John McCain introduced Governor Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate.
Governor Palin has fought oil companies and her own party when it’s in the best interests of her constituents. At the same time she’s been fighting for energy independence. She has an approval rating of about 80%. She has been Commander of Alaska’s National Guard, the chief executive of the state of Alaska and the mayor of a city.
She has used the veto to cut discretionary spending in Alaska and stopped the “bridge to nowhere”, saying “If our state wanted a bridge we’d build it ourselves!”
John McCain’s choice has energized the conservative base. This is what we have been waiting for. Sarah Palin can be the future of the Republican Party. No longer can they say the Republican party is the party of old white guys.
Obama’s campaign came out swinging, saying Sarah Palin is too inexperienced to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency. That’s nonsense. Obama has NO executive experience. He hasn’t run anything or commanded anybody. If Palin were a liberal who had successfully run a city and a state they’d put her on a pedestal. Basically, their argument boils down to “She can’t do it because she’s a woman.” They are wrong.
I agree completely. I have O’Reilly on and he’s babbling away about her lack of experience – says McCain can no longer challenge Obama on the experience issue. Wrong! Totally wrong! What is he thinking?
