What a Gas!

On my way home from Auburn, NY this afternoon I spotted a Quick Fill gas station selling gas for $3.96 per gallon! Luckily my tank was almost empty and I had to fill up. I noticed an older gentleman at the next pump because he had a great big smile on his face. I must have been smiling, too, because he came up to me and said “This is the best price I’ve seen! I just came in from Rochester and everyone was over $4.00″. I said “I know, that’s why I stopped here, but isn’t it crazy that we’re so happy about paying $3.96 per gallon?” He just shook his head and laughed.

You should be in the South. We’ve been paying around $3.69 for a week now.

You probably have lower taxes, too…and less snow!

We don’t have a state income tax, and we haven’t had snow in a couple of years.

I like snow and hopefully we’ll get the kids out skiing this year, but by February/March when we’ve had 200 inches of it, it starts to get old.

We can go skiing in the mountains about 45 minutes away, but I’d like a little more snow at the house for snowball fights, snowman building, sledding, etc.

We have 3 or 4 small mountains within about a 20 minute radius, so it’s really convenient. My husband prefers Colorado, but you can’t have it all!

The snow is nice at Christmas, too.

I fixed it so I’m not called admin anymore. That’s worse than Tattoo Eddie!

When you responded to one of my emails where I had put “Eddie” in the subject line, I actually thought, ‘who the heck is Eddie?’

My Dad is originally from near the Catskills and misses the snow. He doesn’t miss the snow tires and chains.

I wondered where that came from!

We’ve gone skiing at Hunter Mountain, I think that’s in the Catskills. It’s nice there but I’m a wimpy skier and prefer the smaller mountains here in CNY. When it comes to skiing I’m all about “green”.

No need for snow tires and chains anymore (unless you have a mini van). 4WD and all season radials work just fine!
