This has to be the best thing I’ve heard all week. A Constitional amendment to impose term limits on Congress. This is the stuff dreams are made of.
U.S. Representative John R. “Randy” Kuhl, Jr. (R-Hammondsport) today announced the legislative idea that received the most votes for the Fix Washington Project. The most popular idea, ‘impose term limits on all members of Congress – U.S. House of Representative should be limited to six terms (12yrs) and U.S. Senators two terms (12yrs),’ received 43% of the votes and surpassed the runner-up idea by 120 votes.
“Since May 16th, over 1,000 people have logged onto my website and suggested their legislative idea and/or voted for the five selected ideas. This project has given my constituents the opportunity to get involved in the legislative process,” said Rep. Kuhl. “I want to sincerely thank everyone who took time to contact me with their ideas and cast their votes. As the Representative of the 29th Congressional District, it is imperative that I hear from my constituents about what they want to see happen in Washington. Even though the Fix Washington Project is over, I encourage any of my constituents to call or email my office and tell me their legislative ideas on how to make this country a better place to live.”
The Fix Washington Project was first announced on May 16, 2008. The project offered constituents in the 29th Congressional District of New York the opportunity to have their legislative ideas turned into a bill and introduced in Congress. From May 16th to July 18th, more than 400 constituents wrote, called, or faxed in their ideas on how to fix Washington. On Tuesday, July 22nd, the five selected ideas were posted on Rep. Kuhl’s website and his constituents had eight weeks to vote for their favorite idea.
Congressman Kuhl is working on drafting legislation to put before Congress. It will no doubt be an uphill battle but I wish him luck. Thumbs up to Mr. Kuhl! I only wish I lived in his district so I could vote for him.

This is fantastic.
