Two weeks ago John McCain couldn’t buy his way into the news. It was all Obama, all the time. You couldn’t turn on the TV without hearing about how Obama’s a great orator, draws huge crowds, makes women swoon and walks on water.
Now John McCain and Sarah Palin are the ones drawing huge crowds. I didn’t hear about anyone fainting, but they did have cheerleaders (real ones, not MSNBC reporters).
This morning the news started with coverage of a Barack Obama campaign event. He said a few words about education and they cut him off to go to Sarah Palin introducing John McCain at his campaign event. I figured they would immediately cut back to Obama, but they didn’t, they stayed with Palin and McCain.
Since McCain’s announcement that Sarah Palin is his running mate, coverage of McCain and Palin has been considerably higher than that of Obama and Biden. Just when Obama needs the media, they aren’t around. Then again, maybe the media is trying to do him a favor. It seems not everyone sees the nuance in “ah, er, ah.”
