I came across a post from the blog Journal of Feminist Insight that details the differences between Charlie Gibson’s interview of Barack Obama and his interview of Sarah Palin. As I write this, our local news station is covering the celebrities at the Palace Theater for the premier of the Ernie Davis movie (which is a great story). They aren’t airing Gibson’s interview with Palin until 7:30 eastern time. But I digress.
The writer found the transcript of Charlie Gibson’s interview of Barack Obama. The questions included the following hard-hitting “gotchas”:
How does it feel to break a glass ceiling?
How does it feel to win?
How does your family feel about your “winning” breaking a glass ceiling?
Who will be your VP?
Should you choose Hillary Clinton as VP?
Will you accept public finance?
What issues is your campaign about?
Will you visit Iraq?
Will you debate McCain at a town hall?
What did you think of your competitor’s [Clinton] speech?
There’s much more in the original post, as well as a link to Gibson’s interview of Obama.
Anyone who saw Part I of Gibson’s interview of Sarah Palin knows she didn’t get such soft ball questions. I doubt Part II will be any better. But no, really, there’s no media bias.
