You call that an energy bill?

Leave it to the Democrats to pass a fake energy bill, late at night, after a tumultuous day on Wall Street to avoid scrutiny by the press. (Not that they would get any.) Rep. Tim Walberg’s office described the bill quite well.

“Late Monday night, under the guise of darkness, Speaker Pelosi and her Democratic allies introduced an energy bill that fails to produce any new American energy. The Pelosi bill blocks exploration of the Outer Continental Shelf, Alaska’s North Slope and the Inter-Mountain West; contains no nuclear energy or clean coal-to-liquids technology; offers no lawsuit reform; prevents the building of new refineries and includes $19 billion in energy tax hikes on American consumers, manufacturers and small businesses,” according to Walberg. “In short, this is an energyless energy bill that puts politics above principle. Instead of working on a real energy plan, this Congress would rather pass a bill that maximizes political gains for a political party. We need to put aside partisan posturing and open the House Chamber to a real debate on America’s energy future.”

Chris Gautz at Mlive.com describes CSPAN’s coverage of the debate over the bill and how Democratic callers said they were embarrassed by their party. I would be too. As usual, the Democrats are gambling away American prosperity on their political games.

ANOTHER NO-ENERGY, BLAME-THE-REPUBLICANS “ENERGY” BILL. IT IS AN OUTRAGIOUS INSULT TO ANY AMERICAN WITH A BRAIN LARGER THAN A PEA. THE MEDIA WILL DO ITS REGULAR DUTY IN HELPING HER BLAME THE REPS WHEN IT FLOPS. IF WE EVER GET INTO A REAL WAR, WILL WE HAVE ENOUGH FUEL TO PUT OUR PLANES IN THE AIR, OR SHIPS IN THE SEA? MAYBE THIS IS WHAT THEY ARE HOPING FOR. THEY COULDN’T MAKE US LOSE IN IRAQ, SO THEY’LL MAKE UP FOR IT THIS WAY.

The media is doing all they can to keep the electorate woefully uninformed.
