Good Morning America revealed fully their socialist agenda this morning. They’ve always leaned that way but are usually a bit more subtle. Wednesday morning the subtlety came to a screeching halt.
When I first turned on the TV Diane Sawyer was interviewing a man who is near or at retirement age. He said he’s embarrassed that much of his retirement savings has been lost due to the drop in the stock market.
I wondered “If he’s so embarrassed why is he on a national television show?” I also wondered why he didn’t have his funds in safe investments. I’ve known since I started my 401k when I was 23 years old that the time to take risk is when I’m young, and the time to play it safe is when I’m nearing retirement age.
Diane’s question was much different than mine. She asked him if he has lost his faith in capitalism and he replied “This might make me unpatriotic, but yes.” Then I wondered if he was paid for the interview.
I was pretty disgusted, but it’s like watching a train wreck, somehow you just can’t look away. The next segment was with Dr. Tim Johnson and he was comparing the health care policies of the presidential candidates. Robin Roberts made it clear they were not there to endorse either one, only to let us know the facts (she must have winked or had her fingers crossed behind her back.)
Dr. Tim’s assessment of Obama’s plan sounded like an endorsement to me. The only negative thing uttered about Obama’s plan was a quick mention that some have said Obama hasn’t said how he will pay for it. Dr. Tim said McCain’s plan would require work from people (they’d have to compare insurance policies) while Obama’s would be easy. Heaven forbid Americans do anything for themselves.
Perhaps he’s right, the liberals have been in control of education for so long, it’s no wonder so many Americans aren’t able to read an insurance policy. For that matter, look at the housing mess. The same people who can’t read an insurance policy also can’t read a mortgage contract.
In closing, we were reminded that Barack Obama believes health care is a right while John McCain believes it’s a responsibility. Dr. Tim said something along the lines of “We have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Without health care we won’t have those rights. So health care is a right.”
What other “rights” are these people going to grant for us, and how many rights will we lose along the way?

When I think I cannot be more shocked, then I am. I thought the question: Is healthcare a right? was obviously asked to make Obama look good to the downtrodden masses.

Good grief!!
Tim Johnson must not be in private practice, if he ever was. Hardly any doctor who is in private practice wants any more government than there already is in healthcare. His cushy media job has caused him to forget those unpleasantries.

Health care a right? Right. Having been involuntarily unemployed from some very decent paying positions, and haveing seen COBRA expire, I can attest that health care’s a privilege.
NO ONE came forward with outstretched hands. And, yes, there were probably times I needed to see an MD or some other health professional that I didn’t.
That said, it’s interesting you said that they passed by the question of how Obama will pay for that.
Especailly now that there’s $700 billion in negative numbers he didn’t count on, when he began his campaign of largesse.
I’d like someone to ask him how he plans to fund his $1,000,000,000,000 plans for everything–and then ask how he’ll do it with the $700,000,000 financial problem.

You should be outraged at the fact that Democrats really consider Americans as being very stupid and unable to make clear and good decisions for themselves. They have been pandering to people for decades with more and more “goodies” being offered, yet they can’t point to a single SUCESSFUL idea or program.
Voters really need to think about that for a second. We are unable to do anything responsible UNLESS government is in control of every single aspect of your life. We need “government protection” from every single think we do that might impose some risk. If THAT doesn’t outrage you, it should.
Your article hits it dead on. Liberals/Socialists are not our friends, but are wanting to take this nation to the brink of disaster and are doing it as they tell you how stupid you really are. We are no longer able to make decisions for ourselves according to the world of Obamaites.
