Just like Shane Victorino hitting a grand slam home run in the Phillies win over the brewers, Sarah Palin hit it out of the park in tonight’s debate. If there was any doubt about the winner of the McCain/Obama debate, there is no doubt who the clear winner is in the Palin/Biden debate. Sarah Palin won this debate hands down. It was Sarah being Sarah.
Palin turned Biden’s own words against him while he sneered. He came off as a rude buffoon at times while she was positive and upbeat. She was neither inarticulate nor uninformed as her critics, as her critics so hoped she would be.
Not only was she right on the issues, she also connected with the American people. Biden was long winded as usual and nothing he said really stood out. He also told a few lies. By contrast, Palin again highlighted American exceptionalism and talked about personal responsibility. She correctly pointed out that energy is the key to our future.
Palin also scored points on foreign policy. We’ve been told for so long that Biden’s the foreign policy expert, but when Governor Palin said he was waving the “white flag of surrender” she really put him in his place. What good is experience if you’re always wrong?
We had a few friends here to watch the debate, and one of my friends said “She is just so much more believable than Obama or Biden.” My friend was right. Sarah Palin is believable because she is one of us. It’s amazing how impressive Sarah Palin is when her answers are not edited.

You got that right. I thought the debate was excellent. I enjoyed it much more than McCain/Obama.

Evan Longoria hit 2 HR’s for our Rays, and Sarah overcame all 10 or so of Biden’s lies to show herself as more desireable.

nuclear not nucular. sorry that makes me cringe when I hear someone who wants to lead the greatest nation in the world speak like a uneducated hillbilly.
In my opinion McCain is an excellent canidate. Palin is not. Here is my thought:
If your car needs repair you want the finest experienced mechanic. If you are having heart problems you want the best cardiologist possible, If I’m renovating my kitchen do I want a master carpenter with 20 years experience or an apprentice from the backwoods who has only worked on trailers? So why do I want a vice presidential canidate that is neither elite or experienced, but rather is hanging her hat on the “I’m just a commom mom/ average person rah rah populist platform?”
She might be a fine canidate someday. We don’t have time for her to “doggonit, figure it out”

Look at where all of those DC insiders got us. Sorry she doesn’t speak Washingtonian. If I had my way she’d be at the top of the ticket. Judgment and character go a long way in my book, something sorely lacking in Just about anyone in either house of Congress.

U.S. presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush, as well as Presidential Candidate Walter Mondale and Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin, have all used this pronunciation — from Wikipedia. Lots of people say it that way. I’ve heard newscasters say it that way.
And BTW, how do you pronounced “jewelry”? Can’t tell you how many folks who decry “nucular” say “jewlery” when asked.
Get over it.

Let me get this straight. Judgement and Character are lacking in just about everyone in congress. What about the almost 50 Republican Senators and 200 Rebublican Congressmen? What is sorely lacking in those folks?
Sarah Palin is a fine person. I would love to have her as a neighbor. I would probably vote for her to be the next Governor of New York. I just don’t feel she is prepared to handle the duties of Vice President of the United States of America.

As JosefromMassapequa says, “If I’m renovating my kitchen do I want a master carpenter with 20 years experience or an apprentice from the backwoods who has only worked on trailers”. I agree whole heartedly. I want a president that has the experience and judgement. I do not want a rookie with high ideals and good intentions in the oval office, even if he has an experienced tutor. If there is mentoring and learning to be done give me a fast learner that can communicate and has the ability to take advice and make good decisions.
We have a choice of a ticket that is the right way round or one that is upside down. I vote for the former.
By the way, and not that it really matters, as someone working in an industry that deals with the aspects of nuclear energy on a daily basis you might be interested in this fact. Many of the engineers and scientists in the industry and even more of the laymen that I come into contact with pronounce nuclear both ways – right or not. Take care in throwing stones, your argument displays flawed logic, a much greater failing than colloquial elocution.
