What About the War on Terror?

Government bailouts have been front-page news for weeks now. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have been pushed to the back burner. Al Qaeda? Does anyone remember Al Qaeda?

They haven’t forgotten us. They’ve put out another little ad. They want Republicans to be humiliated! Gee, I wonder why? Is it because they’re getting their a$$es kicked all over the Middle East because of Republicans? How are they supposed to plot attacks on American soil when they’re tied up fighting the US Military overseas? No wonder they’re mad at Republicans.

Obama and the Democrats like to talk tough about the terrorists, yet they promise to pull our troops out of Iraq regardless of the facts on the ground. Has anyone asked themselves what will happen if Obama’s wrong about the war on terror? Bill Donovan has.

The war is a tough topic to debate, because it boils down to interpretation. You either believe the facts demonstrate we are in a war with extremist Muslim terrorism or you don’t. You either believe America should be at war in Iraq and Afghanistan or you don’t.

More importantly, you either believe America can decide when the war ends or you don’t. Obama clearly believes America has that choice. His campaign’s initial success was based almost entirely on promoting that belief.

Those of us who support the war believe that he is very wrong. We believe the American military has protected America from the ravages of further civilian attacks on American soil by Al Qaeda. We also believe that ending the war and bringing those troops home doesn’t depend on what America wants or doesn’t want. Read full article.

War is never popular. What’s even less popular is to lose a war. Surrender is worse yet. Personally, I’d prefer to keep the fight overseas rather than here at home.

so no one forgets how the “conservatives” exploited 9/11 for their own gain. I have several friends who died that day… I find it obscenely offensive. They used 19 psycho Arabs as an excuse to change the entire world. Because of Bush & Cronies this period will go down as the darkest in American history.

Main stream media couldn’t stop slavering over Powell’s endorsement of Big O, but says nothing of his endorsements from Ahmadinijad, Hezbolla, Hamas, etc, etc, rtc.

Foreign policy and the war on terror have taken a back seat as issues and rightfully so.Thomas Sowell is an African American journalist. I believe enough smart people will vote for McCain to elect him.
    Here’s his excerpt which I copied…..
    October 30, 2008
“What the Middle East fanatics want is not just our resources or even our lives, but our humiliation first, in whatever sadistic ways they can think of. Their lust for humiliation has already been repeatedly demonstrated in their videotaped beheadings that find such an eager market in the Middle East. None of this can be prevented by glib talk, but only by character, courage and decisive actions – none of which Barack Obama has ever demonstrated.”

Paul, Isn’t Thomas Sowell great. He’s one of the wisest men in America. I wish more people would listen to/read what he has to say.

    Lonely Conservative,
He holds no “punches” back from Obama. He has another article on Real Clear Politics today.
If the MSM was doing it’s job more articles like this would be published in a variety of papers and magazines.
