ABC News’ blog wrote about Senator Orrin Hatch sending an email saying that Gwen Ifill is in the tank for Obama and that Sarah Palin is being set up. Now, it’s not a problem that they are reporting this news, the problem is this:
Don’t think Republicans are trying to get some mileage out of this (wholly manufactured) Gwen Ifill thing? read story
Wholly manufactured? Maybe that’s their opinion, but it isn’t the opinion of most people. Gwen Ifil stands to make a ton of dough if Obama’s elected. In case you haven’t heard, her book “Breakthrough, Politics and Race in the Age of Obama” is due to be released on inauguration day.
But we’re supposed to think she’s entirely impartial. Just as ABC News is impartial. Sorry, America isn’t buying it.

The ABC writer cannot be really impartial on an ethical issue of this kind. His opinion is worth nothing. Most groups, including journalists, “wagon circle” around their weaker or injured members.

Then this morning the top story on my Google reader– Fact Check. All about the supposed inaccuracies of Palin. Hard to believe that people are that biased.
She did very well, but all was lost on the masses as the number of blatant lies by Biden were overwhelming and unchallenged.

14 lies by last count. I’ll probably write about it after work.

Wouldn’t spend a lot of time looking for media comments on Biden’s lies.He can say or do anything, like Barney Frank and Chris Dodd on Fannie and Freddie. They know they won’t be called out on it. How many times was Biden shot down in Iraq and Afghanistan?

Wasn’t it Hitler that said the great masses of people will fall victim to a big lie than a small lie? It’s nice the historical tidbits these libs take to heart.

What we are seeing now is the death of not just public discourse, but any truth inherent in that.
RE: Hitler and the Big Lie from “Mein Kampf”:
“All this was inspired by the principle–which is quite true in itself–that in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods.
“It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously.
“Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation.
“For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying.
“These people know only too well how to use falsehood for the basest purposes.”
