Democrats and their Magical Mystery Money

The Democrats seem to think they can wave a magic wand and trillions of dollars will magically appear to solve all the problems in the global economy. The $700 billion they and President Bush printed isn’t enough. Charles Schumer suggested an additional $700 billion is needed, bringing the grand total to $1.4 trillion dollars.

Nancy Pelosi pretty much said the same thing. I heard she also proposed giving US automakers not the $25 billion they asked for, but a whopping $75 billion. How generous of her!

I wish just once someone would ask them how they plan to pay for all of this spending? While Barack Obama promises to ‘invest’ money in new technology and create millions of jobs after the next mid-term elections, he fails to mention that every dollar he ‘invests’ is a dollar he needs to take or borrow from someone.

Who is going to pay it all back? Have they forgotten about the trillions of dollars in those unfunded mandates known as Social Security and Medicare?

Rather than proposing a few simple measures to stimulate the ecomony, such as reducing the capital gains tax rate and allowing more domestic oil drilling (pirates have just hijacked an oil tanker on its way to the US) these yahoos are pretending they can make money magically appear and everything will be A-OK.

What’s most amazing is that so many American believe them. Go figure.

It will be up to our children’s children’s children’s children’s children’s children’s chidren’s children to pay off that debt.

But hey, Pelosi and Obama and their Lib pals won’t be around, so who cares, right?

I’m shocked that the ransoms are continually being paid for these hijacked ships. It’s a beautiful incentive for the pirates to keep on doing what they’re doing. A new industry has been born.

Did you hear the latest about the pirates? It seems the only ones willing to stand up to them are Islamist militants. Apparently, they are the only ones not concerned with the human rights of the pirates. Insane!

    Haven’t you heard, it’s the “new math.” 1+1 = 19.
At least McCain admitted he knew nothing about economics. His policies indicated that he was correct.
However, the current band of socialist know the score. Bankrupt the country then the proletariat will go willingly into the plan. It’s the “community organizer” way. Show people how terrible their life is, then offer a solution.
That system was not developed by capitalist, by the way, it is the socialist system for government overthrow. Put the country into the tank, blame big business and lock in new system.

You think our system is socialist? Then why do we have so many homeless people? Why is the number 1 reason for bankruptcy in this country medical bills?

Our system is designed to skim money from the middle class and give it to the ultra-rich. The only way we can fix our economy in the long run is to stop spending and wasting money. The bridge to nowhere, the incredibly costly wars, the ridiculous war on terror. Yes you heard me right. It’s ridiculous. A war without a defined enemy, no definition of victory and scary spooky bad guys are great political capital. Don’t you think you could have carried out a terrorist act in the US if you wanted to? The fact that it hasn’t happened is pretty good proof that the danger is overblown. Think about it. Three guys with machine guns (not difficult to get in the US) could do a whole lot of damage.

I won’t defend the national debt but I will say that when unemployment is 10 percent is a bit foolish to cut spending. Ask any economic historian.

Are you one of OFA’s few remaining volunteers – going out on blogs and repeating Dem talking points? Very tiring.
