Every time I hear about global warming this time of year I just have to laugh. It’s 20 degrees with snow squalls. Where’s the warming? A group of about 200 whales would be thinking the same thing if they had the ability.
At least 200 narwhal whales in Canada’s Arctic, trapped by winter ice and facing starvation or suffocation, must be culled, officials say.
Hunters from the village of Pond Inlet on Baffin Island discovered the animals trapped near Bylot Island, about 17 kilometres from Pond Inlet, on November 15.
The local hunters are allowed to harvest only 130 whales each year for food, according to standards set by the federal department of Fisheries and Oceans.
But department spokesman Keith Pelley said: “It’s unlikely the animals are going to survive the winter, so the hunters have been given authorisation to cull them.” Read full article.
It’s doubtful this story will receive much press.
H/T American Thinker

I don’t think they call it “global warming” anymore. They have cleverly transitioned from “global cooling” to “global warming” and now to “climate change”. They should have just started with climate change. It’s more believable.

I told Mr. Shott last night a story about an Obama driver I encountered on the highway. I was on my way to my mother’s to drop off some things I picked up for her. When I left my home there were only flurries but by the time I got on the highway the snow really started coming down and the road was slick because the plows hadn’t come out yet to salt the roads. I wasn’t driving terribly slow, probably about 55 mph. A car with an Obama sticker decided to pass me on a bridge. It was 20 degrees. She started skidding into my lane. If I hadn’t taken my foot off the gas she probably would have side swiped my car. The only explanation I could think of is that she’s such a believer in global warming that she fails to understand bridges freeze first. It’s going to be a long winter. And yes, I do drive an SUV, the minivan didn’t like going up hills in the snow:)
