President George W. Bush delivered his final speech tonight to the American people. While watching and listening to the President I couldn’t help but wonder how this man can evoke such hatred from some of us. To this day it still baffles me.
I remember going to a Christmas party a few years ago at someone’s home. I knew the hostess was a Democrat with some strong feelings when it comes to politics but I was blown away when I walked into her kitchen. On the refrigerator were doctored photos of President Bush and Vice President Cheney, along with all sorts of written material that was so vulgar I won’t repeat it here. What amazed me even more is that this woman had two teenage daughters living in the house. What does that teach the children? Hate?
It’s one thing to disagree with policies and actions of our representatives, it’s quite another to completely trash a human being. I don’t agree with every policy of George W. Bush. But I also believe he’s a good man with a good heart who’s been trashed by the media and the left in this country. The main stream media will never give him credit for the fact that the Bush tax cuts did more for the economy than any government spending ever did.
Thanks to President Bush we’ve been safe since 9/11. Thanks to President Bush millions of Africans receive life saving AIDS medication. Thanks to President Bush millions of women in the middle east have rights for the first time in their lives. Thanks to President Bush millions of American seniors can now afford life-extending medication. Thanks to President Bush we have two more Supreme Court Justices who hold the Constitution of the United States of America in the highest regard. Thanks to President Bush an evil dictator who waged war with his neighbors, killed his own citizens and threatened freedom loving people has been removed. Thanks to President Bush we’re fighting our enemies on their soil instead of our own.
Heck, President Bush has done more for liberal causes than any Democrat’s ever done. They should be cheering him, not jeering. But they’re too blinded to see it.
My thanks to President Bush for keeping us safe. My thanks to Mrs. Laura Bush for her constant grace and healing presence while First Lady. I wish them a long, peaceful life back in Texas.

AMEN.. I watched, listened and wept last night as he spoke to us one last time, as our president. It felt like a death in a way.. it stirred grief in my heart, and apprehension for the future. The steady, consistent, calming presence and leadership of President and Mrs Bush has been a comfort over these 8 years. His words were very telling – “after 9-11 the country went back to normal daily life – I never went back to normal life again.” (paraphrased) Every day he awoke with one objective most heavy on his heart – do everything in his power to keep his countrymen safe. His deep love of country and his loyalty to our military just shines.
I do not see either of these traits in Barack Hussein Obama – in fact he has shown the opposite.. anti-American… anti-military. GOD HELP US. (and please Lord, WAKE UP the idiots who voted for this man so they don’t do it again in 4 years.)
