I can’t for the life of me figure out why conservatives or Republicans appear on The View. It’s nothing but a scream fest. Out of 8 minutes there was maybe 4 minutes of dialogue and the rest of the time the team of hosts shouted over Ms. Coulter.
H/T Hot Air
Update: If you had trouble following the dialogue due to the shrieking you can find a transcript of the interview at NewsBusters.

This 1st portion of my response is directly to Anne…. I hereby christen thee “Anne ‘John The Baptist’ Coulter”. You are the ‘voice’ crying in the wilderness for true conservatism. I have only read one of your books, and yes, it was caustic, but the basis of your material was even more so. In the time of John The Baptist, he too, was considered radical and un-bending, demanding obedience, pointing out the sins of the world, forcing the truth into the face of the those who would not see. Anne you are a hero in my eyes for stepping into such a large pair of shoes.
To all others who made read this: Since her latest book has been released she has done the talk show circuit with all the networks and I must say that I am surprised by what I saw. Since I mainly watch FOX…I saw Bill O’Reilly talk over her, challenge her, and NEVER once let her finish a statement. But, then again, Bill is scaling back his rhetoric just as his airtime is being scaled back (since giving up radio). I also saw Geraldo attempt to undermine her interview with a new ‘set of questions’ about her book content that was challenged by the NY Times. Now, Geraldo was a little more gentlemanly about it, but he nonetheless did not make the most of his airtime with her. The biggest surprise came when I saw Mike Huckabee, under the pretense of helping her promote her book and speak her mind, use his SHOW as a way to force an apology from her about a remark she made about HIM prior to the primaries. And he a ‘Baptist’ minister. Hmph.
In this era of media-manipulation-gone-wild, you would think that these men, these trumpeters of conservatism, seeking fair and balanced reporting…. would have at least LET THE WOMAN SPEAK !!! She has done alot of research and gathered loads of VALID information that the rest of conservatism NEEDS to hear, and needs to believe. We ALL know that speaking nicely and giving ‘equal time’ does nothing to further the cause. Those who have read Annes’ books know that she does not speak nicely…because she has NOT been given equal time. But she DOES further the cause, God bless her. (The squeeky wheel gets the oil !!!)
As far as ‘The View’… it is as I expected. I actually think Anne got to say MORE on that show than she did on the FOX channels, despite being sandbagged by the “ladies”. If even one of them had let her speak her mind and present her case, I think the “ladies” could have accomplished their professed goal of ‘enlightening’ the masses. Oh, sorry, I forgot the only masses they care to reach are the ones who support their agenda. I’m surprised they didn’t wrap their arms around her….for being a ‘victim’. They like that. Except when they themselves are the perpetrators.
I think the whole thing devolved down to prove Annes’ point as being correct. Speak softly and carry a big stick doesn’t wash in this ‘era of change’. One must speak LOUDLY and publish alot of books. Unfortunately, those of you readers familiar with the outcome of John The Baptists’ endeavours know where I’m going with this. If Anne’s head roles, we all perish, if we do not heed her cry.
Go Bless Anne Coulter. MARY in TX

I saw the program! She was under massive attack and I don’t think they let her finish one single sentence. She does need to get a thicker skin, though. Toward the end she kind of came off like a victim herself. Not the best response from our A.C.

PCC-She would have needed a megaphone to talk over that gaggle.
Mary-Good points. I’ve read most of Ann’s books. Even when the subject is bleak she has a way of making me laugh. That in itself is a true gift!

This is hysterical! “a dark liberal world.” Everyone else just spent 8 years in the exact opposite position (ie: a dark conservative world where questioning, say, repulsive torture policy by the US Government meant you were un-American) and now you wanna play victim.
*Poor Sarah Palin* – *Poor Ann Coulter* The left-wing biased media is SO cruel!
I LOVE Palin & Coulter. As long as they’re around shouting from their bizarro corner of the peanut gallery, the Republican Party won’t ever win back congress let alone The White House.

I am disgusted by The View. Those “ladies” are a bunch of loud, ignorant liberal nuts, and quite frankly I think they’re jealous of Ms. Coulter. She was invited as a “guest” and not given an opportunity to even finish a sentence. If the “ladies” need so badly to be heard, why do they (1) invite anybody else on the show, or (2) have so darn many of themselves so that they can’t even scream over each other!? Pure stupidity.

If A.C. is so against single motherhood, what is her suggested alternative?? If the father leaves the equation, isn’t it the mother doing the right thing by supporting and caring for her child? Surely A.C. isn’t suggesting that all single mothers abort their children. The only other alternative would be to give the child up for adoption- but growing up in a foster care system would cause MUCH more damage to the child than growing up in a single-parent household. So what exactly does A.C. propose?

Ann is an insult to all working intelligent women making a living doing something that is honest and meaningful. Her mission in life is to make money being mean and antagonistic just for the purpose of being such. She has not real passion for what she believes in and think of ways to hurt people. I should say i am surprised that is single and childless but i can’t.

#7 – I suppose you could read the book and find out if she makes any suggestions.
#5 – Don’t blame conservatives….there haven’t been many around in the past eight years. Republicans leaping across the aisle to work with Democrats doesn’t count.

The reason everyone, from Bill O’Reily to Joy Behar, interrupts Ann Coulter is because she constantly interrupts everyone she talks to. She insists on being given an opportunity to speak – which any guest should – but does not give the same opportunity to respond.
The sad thing is, she hasn’t had an original thought in years. She recirculates all of the same old complaints against liberals that she did from the start, all under a new title. She is guilty of such gross generalizations about who she calls liberal, drawing weak conclusions from tenuous facts and attributing them to all liberals with the broadest brush.
Conservatives shouldn’t be disappointed by the treatment she receives on shows like Today and The View – that treatment is exactly what she expects to receive. She’s developed a competent style of making herself a victim of the left in order to sell her books.

#9- What other option could there possibly be? Out of the only options for a single mother (abortion, foster care, child abandonment), I certainly believe that the choice to raise and support a child is the best option for the child. Some people believe the foster care system is the best, however, the worst thing you can do to a child psychologically is to deny the child a single, stable home (according to classical psychology).
Therefore, I must say that the choice to keep the child and take-on the responsibilities associated with it is nothing less than heroic.
On “The View” yesterday, A.C. declared that no one calls the abandoning fathers heroic. The reason for this is not some sexist left-wing conspiracy; fathers who abandon their children are not heros.

As a young woman who has to inherit the backwards by-products of such nonsensical lawmakers like Palin or talking idiot heads like Coulter, I can only say this: enough is enough. Suffragists didn’t campaign so that other women almost a century later could spout such deranged opinions on the woman’s place in society and the state of her uterus.
In fact, it’s the babymaking conservatives (or the loveless Ann) who are overpopulating and spitting on the Earth even more, yet crying about welfare America, gay America (who can’t procreate by definition), and liberal America. Get it together Conservatives! Ann is a hate-monger who apparently (and psychologists would agree) isn’t content with her own life enough to be a polite human being. In fact, the woman can’t even hold together a relationship. As for Palin, what a blubbering idiot. Anyone who enters pageants can’t be trusted as a rational voice for women. Can you imagine taking seriously a male leader who once paraded around in his underwear?
The point is, these women do NOTHING for progress and the realities of the future. MY future.
Thank (NO) god for the fact that the Conservative elderly population is on their way back to the dirt.

You are all right about the alternatives being “awful” for single mother’s (and Not ALL single mother’s) But for those of you who can’t think of an alternative, I’ve got a news flash for you. How about recommending that young girls and so-called liberated young women STOP SLEEPING AROUND outside of marriage and irresponsibly getting pregnant!! Whew, that was a toughy. Reality is what reality does.
#12 .. as for Sarah Palin, I think for a woman to have been a Mayor, become the Governor of a state and have a list of accomplishments a mile long is someone who definately can be trusted as a rational voice for women. Just because she’s done something you never did and she let ALL her children live doesn’t make her a blubbering idiot. Suffragists a century ago certainly were not campaigning for the right to kill their unplanned, unwanted babies. They were not campaigning for the right to be accepted in society for living the life of a slut. They also were not campaigning to turn women into men. What they were campaigning for is exactly what Sarah Palin has achieved. Go do a little more reading on Suffragists.

#13… Are you implying that Bristol Palin, the poster-child of unwed mothers, is “living the life of a slut” since she was “sleeping around outside of marriage and irresponsibly getting pregnant”? After all, “reality is what reality does”.
#13…I am appalled that one could employ such misogynistic language to describe any woman. I am predicting your response to my question; however, let me affirm that whether or not it is Bristol Palin or Sally from up the street, no woman should ever be branded with the term “slut”, as you so eloquently put it. You are simply a tool of patriarchy and supremacy as you perpetuate myths and stereotypes about women.
Sarah Palin’s and Ann Coulter’s views do not represent my beliefs and convictions.

I am amazed at what I am reading here. Most are saying that Ann was never allowed to finish a sentence. I watched that same show and see it the other way around. Ann was given many opportuities to voice her opinions but when someone on the panel tried to say anything, she cut them off and spoke louder. She was very rude to Barbara Walters – she seems to have no self control.
I cannot believe that AC actually believes the things she says and writes about. If she really does, then she is a very hateful person. And if she doesn’t, shame on her for saying these hateful things to make a buck.

#14 : I thank you for your response to my #13 post. I thank you because I know how hard it must be to hear a truth spoken out loud.
First, if you reread my post, I specifically stated that not ALL single mother’s have the agonizing choices that MOST of them do. I myself was a single mother for seven years. So I am speaking from my own experience. I guess it was easy for you to take my post in it’s entirety and extrapolate out that Bristol was a slut, but that was not my message. Bristol made a mistake. Like a lot of girls do. And some of them even end up marrying and providing stable homes for the families they create. But, it is the VAST majority of those who DON’Tand also don’t have family (or whose families cannot or will not help) that create the problems that Ann Coulter is talking about in her book. It is to those girls/women who believe that they can ‘have it all” or ‘live my life the way I want’ or ‘get the sexual gratification I deserve’ that my ill-sounding comments are directed at. Who are they to thrust their progeny on the lives of their elders or the government? The lesson I am trying to convey here is this: If you are going to be sexually promiscuous you’ve got to choose from A) Am I AND my sexual partner ready/able to live up to the responsibilty of our actions? or B) Does my family/others give their consent to taking that responsibilty on for us if we are not? or C) Are WE willing to accept the “awful” choices left to us without A or B being an option? The sad part is…is that option C is most often chosen, as Anne relates in her book. And that answer is ‘NO’. And thus we have the crisis spelled out in her book. The fact that children who are not brought up in a home setting with a committed father and mother will suffer the greatest risk as they try to develop and grow into responsible, happy adults. You just cannot argue that point.
Now, let me address your reaction to my using the term ‘slut’. First of all, I was referencing the comment about suffragists in post # 12., which I will address at the end of this comment. But, for my purpose here, let us discuss ‘branding, labeling, or stereotyping’. Call it what you want but let us say that my child, at the age of 10 or so, shoplifts a goodie from the store, and I discover it upon returning home. What am I to say? “Oh, sweetheart, you are not a thief, but that kind of behavior will get you into trouble later in life”. HELL…NO!! The child needs to be TOLD he is a thief!! Call a thing by it’s name so you will know it. There is nothing wrong with that, unless you want to allow a child/young adult to go into the world and NOT KNOW what is expected of it. If my daughter sleeps around before marriage, and doesn’t honor her obligations and take the full brunt of her respnsibilities then I WILL call her a slut. If the fear of being called a slut will make her think twice about giving herself over to a night of lust, then so be it. That is it’s purpose. It is not a brand. It is calling a thing by it’s name. I want my girls to know it’s meaning. (sarcasm alert : How sad that a young, inexperienced, wholesome-hearted young girl might not get laid to prove she is acceptable in this world. What a leftist tragedy!!!) If Bristol, or Levi Johnston do not live up to the responsiblity that they have created, then yes, that would make Bristol a slut. I’m sorry, but that is the way I see it. But, if they do…than they are not the individuals referred to in either my post, nor Annes book.
As for my using misogynistic language…. I think MY language is the LEAST hateful toward women. Women have been being lied to since the 60′s!! I say these things out of my love for womanhood. I have 2 daughters whom I love, and whom I chastize, and whom I willingly send forth into this world with more power than all the leftist agenda can muster to save them. They need to embrace their womanhood…not use it as a tool to get what they want, nor wield it as a sword as if in battle. They are who they are. They are women. And I pray they can become women like Sarah Palin. Uterus and all.
Now, I wish to address women who say they just want the ‘freedom’ to have control over their own bodies. Well, there is one thing those women forget. Any woman who wants to claim that her uterus is her own…than she better treat it like what it is….and not COMPLETELY IGNORE the fact that her uterus is a baby-making machine. THAT is it’s function. Women who want to claim that their inheritance is a “backwards by-product of some nonsensical lawmaker” should perhaps think about putting hysterectomy on her list of To-Do’s in the 21st century. Because it isn’t really her uterus she cares about. Think about that. Get a B.O.B. Suffragists were not striving to allow women to live lives of sexual promiscuity. They were fighting for the rights that Sarah Palin embodies. Today’s leftist ‘suffragists’ have taken the 1960′s ‘Free Love’ agenda and carried it forward to mean that we women are now free to act like rutting males! My beliefs and convictions say that THAT is NOT acceptable…for male or female. So thank you again Sabrina… from one Texan to another, for at least reading the response you thought you would get from me. I hope you get it. I really do.
