Today isn’t my birthday, but it is the birthday of The Lonely Conservative blog! Wow, a whole year. Where did the time go? (Read my 2008 year in review for a reminder!)
To all my readers, including my dad, uncle, cousins and new friends, thanks so much for coming back. Every comment is appreciated (with the exception of the ones using extremely vulgar language, insulting other readers or calling me a Nazi).
In honor of a whole year on line, please leave a comment and let me know what’s on your mind. Where do you think our country is headed? The right direction? The wrong direction? Straight to hell?

L.C….. Let me be the first to say Happy Birthday!! I love your site. And I DO have hope for this country. We are headed in the right direction as long as sites like yours are here for us to contribute to. Keep up the great work. (but, do get rid of the blue background around the test) Anyway… I came alive and regained my hope when I found you. I will thank Joe the Plumber for that, since he was my first post!! Thanks, Mary! I don’t have the problem with the blue background, it should be white. I’ll have to see what I can do, someone else told me about the same thing but it doesn’t happen to everyone.

Unfortunately I believe the country is headed in the wrong direction. Where are the checks and balances that were placed in our Government to keep tabs on one another? And when did news reporters stop being Jounalist and checking their facts before reporting? For example: (1) The Bailout Money which is totally unaccounted for, (2) Obama’s Question of citizenship, (3) How the liberal news media blamed Bush and the Republicans for the current financial crisis, and (4) The lack of reporting on Obama’s past history. This is just to name a small few.
No longer do I look to newspapers and news stations for facts or even accurate reporting. I go to The Lonely Conservative site along with a handful of conservative websites to obtain the facts since I don’t have the time to do the digging and research myself on a daily basis.
