After claiming that the United States sheds 500 million jobs per month (she must be including illegal immigrants in this figure), Nancy Pelosi announced that federal spending on birth control will save the Treasury money and stimulate the economy.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi boldly defended a move to add birth control funding to the new economic “stimulus” package, claiming “contraception will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government.”
Pelosi, the mother of 5 children and 6 grandchildren, who once said, “Nothing in my life will ever, ever compare to being a mom,” seemed to imply babies are somehow a burden on the treasury.
I’d like to ask Madame Speaker “Doesn’t the Social Security ponzi scheme rely on future generations of workers in order to promise payments to the current generation of workers?” If Americans stop having babies who’s going to pay for all the entitlements promised by the politicians?
Update: In her interview with George Stephanopoulos Nancy Pelosi claimed there is consensus among economists on the need for a big stimulus package. Turns out that’s not true. Kind of reminds you of the claimed global warming consensus, huh?

Actually, family planning will stimulate the economy, but in a non tradition way. There are actually tangible, realized savings from family planning services. There have been over 20 different studies across the united states that show that this is very true. All of which can be found here: Pubmed
The government will actually save money in the long run by investing in contraceptive services. That is why Nixon endorsed the Family Planning and Research Act of 1970.
