White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs made his debut this afternoon. The press wondered why they weren’t invited to President Obama’s re-swearing in and Mr. Gibbs insisted it was no big deal and they simply were being abundantly cautious.
He then proceeded to answer questions about the order to close Gitmo. They don’t know where the detainess will go or how they’ll be brought to justice, yet they claim this will make America safer. How will this make us more safe?
Where’s the abundance of caution when it comes to national security? There isn’t any-it’s hasty decisions based on politics. President Obama simply had to fulfil a campaign promise, no matter the consequences. I don’t see how that makes us any safer.
Follow Up Question: Why didn’t the Obama team, out of “an abundance of caution” simply release his birth certificate when it was requested?
