Late in the year 2001 the Democratic National Committee (DNC) stirred up so much anger in some Americans that a new mental illness took hold. The curious disease became known as Bush Derangement Syndrome (BDS). Symptoms include psychotic rants, triggered by the mere mention of the name George W. Bush. By 2009 BDS reached epic proportions. The epidemic had spread from sea to shining sea.
The disease was aggravated by TV talking heads, scary men blogging in their parents’ basements, politicians bribing voters and attention-starved Hollywood celebrities. BDS is a chronic condition with no known cure. By 2008 the DNC decided they needed to heal the nation and developed an experimental antidote which they call Hope and Change (HAC).
Large doses of HAC were administered to the masses to no avail. Millions of Americans overdosed on HAC while their BDS dementia progressively worsened. HAC’s manufacturers continued to have faith and believe in their experimental product. So much so, they decided to quarantine the victims of BDS in Washington, DC for a massive infusion of HAC. They named the study Obamapolooza.
The rich, elite sufferers of BDS; the ones with great insurance and connections; fared better than the massess, who developed the consequential condition No You Can’t Syndrome. NYCS aggravated the underlying BDS and the overdose of HAC seemed to push the massess over the edge, causing them to lose all sense of etiquette and chant epithets at the outgoing President.
Millions of Americans are left nearly paralyzed, mentally and physically, praying to their new Messiah to abort their endless suffering. The DNC is working around the clock to develop a new antidote, Give and Take. It is also known by the generic name You Give We Take.
At this time the prognosis is guarded.

I suppose if you want to believe that the nation’s disenchantment with George Bush, which ended in an unprecedented 22% approval/78% disapproval rating was all because of a “vast left-wing conspiracy” to adapt an old Hillary Clinton expression, then you should feel free to do so.
The fact, though, is that immediately after 9/11, George Bush’s ratings were outstanding. He had massive bipartisan support. And a lot of us think that it was what he and his VP, his Sec. State, and other inner circle did that caused such an immense reaction against him.
But go ahead and believe what you want. It’s pretty much a dead issue anyway, don’t you think?
