Mitt Romney – CPAC Interview – Updated

Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney spoke at CPAC today. It was a decent speech. Not the best, not the worst. His mention of the Constitution was a plus. He appears to be trying to strike a compromise between attacking The One while wishing The One well at the same time. Personally, I’d like to see all the leaders on the right go after The One with a vengeance. When the left did so to President Bush it may not have prevented Bush from being re-elected, but in the long run it served them well, dontcha think?

But Romney did make some excellent points, one of which he repeated here. We don’t want universal everything in these United States.

I don’t know who I’ll support for 2012, we don’t even know who’s going to run. Bobby Jindal has good instincts but he’s very young. After a few years of The One young presidents may be out of fashion. (We can only hope!) As far as Sarah Palin goes, it’s hard to predict how she’ll fare. Will the press get tired of lambasting her? Will she be better prepared to handle the national media the next time around? Who knows.

Unfortunately, we have plenty of time to make up our minds.

Update: Video of Mitt Romney’s speech is now available. Hot Air highlights the best part of the speech here. All I can say, as your average American woman, mom and producer, there is a pall on the conservative movement right now. These conservative stalwarts can show up at CPAC and give speeches, but it doesn’t change the reality of the day. We’re out of power, the radicals have the power and we’re all going to pay. Pray that I’m wrong and 2010 and 2012 will bring a new dawn for these United States of America. Anyhoo, enjoy the video, it’s a decent speech.

Romney should have been our President. I still can’t believe he dropped out like he did, when he did. It was a sad, sad day from which we have never recovered.

I am sad that, living in TX…’I’ never got to vote in the primary for Mitt. He had already dropped out before TX had our primaries. (What does that say about our voting methods in the US?) Thus, I was destined to lash my hopes onto John McCain. Instead… I rode the Operation Chaos train, crossed over and voted for Hillary. What the heck did I have to lose? I guess now I know. Either way, I think Hillary would have done EXACTLY what BO has done since Jan 19. Personally, all things being equal…can you imagine what state we’d be in if BO were Secretary of State? Perhaps it has been a blessing in disguise. Gotta love Mitt. Gotta love God. For no man would have power in this world, were it not given him from above. It’s our wake-up call America. The alarm is now ringing in our ears.

I voted for Romney in the primary, not that it did any good. I’d prefer the primaries to be much closer together and the whole caucus thing is ridiculous, IMHO.

Imagine someone a President right now that nows how money and the economy works! The stock market wouldn’t have plummeted the day after election day when the results showed Obama. The markets wouldnt have tumbled the day the stimulus (spendulus) bill pass the senate or the day obama signed the stimulus!
