President Obama seems to think he’s playing a high stakes game of Texas Hold ‘em instead of leading our country in a time of crisis. I have nothing against gambling, unless one is doing so with other people’s money. In this case, he’s going all in with our money.
Not even a month into his presidency, Barack Obama has bet his administration on his economic stimulus package succeeding.
At a town hall rally in Fort Myers, Fla, where the president promoted the bill, he said that in “a few years from now” if his prescriptions haven’t worked and people don’t feel like he’s led the country in the right direction, “then you’ll have a new president.”
That was a clear reference to his likely re-election bid in four years.
Obama said he won’t make any excuses if he fails in his effort to turn the economy around or improve the health care system.
“I won’t lie to you,” he said.
Okay, we all know the man’s been lying to us since he began his campaign and the lies just keep coming. But even putting that aside, he’s gambling away the future of our children and to him it appears to simply be a political game.
What would your average American think of a parent that takes their child’s college savings and blows it all in a casino? What’s the difference here?
I don’t know about you, but the porkulus bill looks like all lemons to me.
OK….I officially now feel that I have been drugged, beaten, date-raped and left for dead. Not only ME…but my daughters, and my grandchildren. WOULD ANY OF YOU EVER ALLOW such a slick-willy into YOUR home if he came to court your daughter? He could pass this friggin’ theft plan if he wanted to!! Why the H**L doesnt he? My real question is WHY ARE WE LETTING HIM TRY???? What the heck can I do as an American citizen that will STOP the theft going on before my eyes?? Will this ‘man’ ever stop stumping? Gag him with a spoon already!! OMG!!! Lemming League….let’s get started! We are already many laps behind!!

We need a leader. Obama is not leading, he is campaigning because his popularity is falling…it’s all he knows how to do. Sell. Campaign. Sell. Throw “fear” into the package, a tactic he learned while in Chicago, and see if that works. He is truly an empty suit and America is ga ga over him.

He WILL lie when his programs fail, and the media will do everything it can to help him get away with the failures and the lies. Notice Jeff Imelt of G.E., NBC, MSNBC, etc being named by THE ONE to some economic advisory thing? There’s your answer.

I equate it more to his going all in with only his signature as credit. Come tomorrow, he’ll be down at the payday loan borrowing on our credit line to pay for his bet. He thinks he can push us around. Maybe he can and maybe he can’t.

Of course, he wouldn’t be blowing any of that money in a LAS VEGAS casino—we all know how he feels about anyone going to LAS VEGAS…NO CONFERENCES IN LAS VEGAS! meanwhile, we have the highest foreclosure rate in the nation and all those little people he claims he’s trying to help are getting laid off since business is being cancelled right and left because investment banks, et al, shouldn’t be coming to Las Vegas. And not a peep from Harry Reid demanding a retraction. Lots of jobs lost, lots more homes lost, because of those irresponsible comments. And he has no clue that he has uttered something that has real impact on real jobs. And he’s in the driver’s seat.
This man is so clearly over his head and so transparently disingenuous. I honestly cannot believe that so many people voted for him. And I honestly can’t stomach that he thinks we–the average citizen–are so incredibly “stoopid”.

Au contraire! Our Culinary Local #226—AND all those union members, which includes an enormous hispanic population, and who are, basically, the people losing their homes–backed The One big time. And the Mayor is a Dem (go Oscar!). The fact is, when times are bad people are not coming here on vacation and spending 3 days at a craps table. We have an equally enormous business in convention/conference bookings; we have state of the art conference facilities and room rates as part of that package are well below San Francisco (and no, those investment bankers are not in the spa, the casino, or the show rooms–they WORK the whole time they are here). We lost 11,000 (eleven thousand!) rooms last night alone with State Farm pulling out. The reality is, within 3 days of The One making an irresponsible comment we have lost millions in business and BAM! layoffs and reduced work weeks were instantaneous. He personally put people out of work and lost more homes with a flippant comment. He is so obviously too small for the suit he’s wearing. Grrrrr!
