It looks like Governor David Paterson may be backing off his soda tax, but with the New York gov you never know. If you are concerned about higher taxes in New York you can do something about it by signing the petition against the soda tax.
States like New York and California just don’t get it. The more they tax to pay for their big spending, the more taxpayers they drive out of state. Let them know how you feel by signing the petition!
Its Amazing that this site seems to follow along with what I have going here locally.
I have talked it over with a few people and I think here in the next few months we might try to put together a rally or protest against our federal government. I know that no matter what we do this will be to small to make much of a difference but maybe other cities and states will follow! Maybe people will see us or read about it and come join. Just maybe someone will listen!?

William, I think this new mortgage deal The One announced is really going to make a lot of Americans mad. The majority of homeowners still pay their bills on time. It’s a small percentage that don’t, and the biggest housing bubbles were in a handful of states. Not that you’d know it by listening to the media. Did you see the video on the front page – the rant on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Those aren’t just rich folks, they’re people like we are who go to work every day to earn a living and they don’t much like the idea of paying for other people’s mistakes. Michelle Malkin just attended a rally in Denver protesting the federal government. I’m all for it. The media can’t ignore it forever, or can they?

Karen, Yeah I have read about it and heard a little on conservative talk radio. I’m not even a home owner and it upsets me! Punishing the rich for the sake of the poor? UGH! What has our nation become? The thing that upsets me most is that republicans that don’t agree with any of this can’t grow a pair and defend their own rights and thoughts on this matter! I think it’s funny that I will bring something up and republicans crawl out of the wood work. But unless I’m the one raising Hell I never hear from these people! They think that they are a political minority and that’s not the case in my area. They think that because the dems are out in droves looting our nation that they should just keep quiet. THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A BETTER TIME TO VOICE YOUR OPINION AND TO BE HEARD PEOPLE!
I know this sounds a little weird but thanks for having a pair Karen and giving your nation someplace they can be heard. You’re a great American.
