The Left’s Ongoing Assault on the American Family

In the event the Left’s attempts to brainwash our children through the education system, mass media and entertainment industries doesn’t work, they have yet another trick up their sleeve.

Have you noticed the way fathers are portrayed in television shows and movies? The dad is always a moron, if there’s a dad in the picture at all.

Then we had AlGore telling a group of teenagers not to listen to their parents. Just what parents need today. Not only do we have to contend with pregnant teenagers put on pedestals, drugs in our schools and a culture obsessed with style over substance; now we have so-called authority figures telling kids to disrespect their parents.

On top of all that, now this.

Sen. Barbara Boxer is urging the U.S. to ratify a United Nations measure meant to expand the rights of children, a move critics are calling a gross assault on parental rights that could rob the U.S. of sovereignty.

The California Democrat is pushing the Obama administration to review the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child, a nearly 20-year-old international agreement that has been foundering on American shores since it was signed by the Clinton administration in 1995 but never ratified.

Critics say the treaty, which creates “the right of the child to freedom of thought, conscience and religion” and outlaws the “arbitrary or unlawful interference with his or her privacy,” intrudes on the family and strips parents of the power to raise their children without government interference.

I guess it’s no surprise. Intact families are less likely to raise their children to depend on the government for handouts. Conservative parents are likely to raise their children with conservative values. If a child decides not to go to church can the government, or heaven forbid, the UN override the parent’s decision to take the child to church (or whatever place of worship the parent’s choose)?

What better way to completely indoctrinate our children than to take the parents and churches out of their upbringing?

Wow! Shades of Hitler, huh? People who think this is a just and moral idea should really borrow some books from me. We are really so screwed with these pepole.

Have you read Ayn Rand’s ‘We the Living’? Can you imagine living through that? It looks like we may find out. As she warned in ‘Atlas Shrugged’ – there will always be someone needier than you. Are you a single mom with two kids? Well, look – there’s OctoMom with 14 kids. She doesn’t even have a job. She’s needier. Plus they have all those hospital bills. Very needy indeed. Are you in foreclosure? Too bad, you didn’t hang on long enough. You’re neighbor’s getting bailed out while you lose your house, move into a rat trap rental and pay the neighbor’s mortgage. Do you need a kidney transplant? Well, you’re over 50 and someone in their teens needs a transplant so you’ll have to wait. Are you in a union? Good for you! You’re employer just went belly up and you’ve only been in the union four years. There are fellas twenty years in….you’re out of luck. We could go on all night with more examples but people just don’t get it. Eventually they will run out of money. The way they’re spending it it’s going to be sooner rather than later. What will they do then? Print money! Then the money is worthless. It’s just paper anyway. It isn’t backed by anything.

After I read “Atlas” and was shocked to my senses (at the age of 20, btw) I read all of Rand, including the dry philosophical stuff. Because it made sense to me,and was so important, I didn’t even find it all that dry.

Here’s something scarier—my 9 year old nephew JUST completed Rand’s “Anthem” before the election. He had nightmares about it (he takes these things to heart). He read it with is mom and they discussed the concepts all the way through. She’s great, she just reads it and asks him to explain what they just read, using kids he knows as examples–she doesn’t try brainwashing him. And you know what this 9 year old recently said? “Mom! This is like Anthem. Is Anthem for real now?!” And he was seriously scared. Because even at NINE, HE GETS IT. Even at nine, he recognizes that this stuff is just not right. Yet millions of American adults don’t see it.

If anyone wants to be truly terrified, I”ll give you the title of an excellent book about Hitler’s rise to power and just how that came about…. you’ll be ‘heiling’ Obama after you read it. (Shudder!)

Oh, ugh, I’m sorry, I just glanced over at your media bias headlines. Could Chris Matthews actually be some alien life form or something?

Chris Matthews – ugh – I don’t know what he is! A Kool-Aid drinker or a true believer?

Anthem is on my ‘to read’ list. Sometimes I think kids get things better than adults do. I hope your nephew isn’t too scared. But these are scary times. It’s like history is repeating itself and not enough people recognize it.
