I wonder how long it will be before every American acknowledges that President Bush did all he could to keep us safe. Sadly, that doesn’t appear to be one of President Obama’s priorities. I guess appearing on Jay Leno, filling out NCAA brackets and appeasing left wing nut jobs are more important.
They [AIG, et al] have been rewarded with hundreds of billions of dollars in “bailout” money.
By contrast, the U.S. military has protected the lives of American taxpayers without ever asking for payback of any kind.
Their reward: The Obama administration is poised to make deep, cavernous cuts to weapons budgets.
This is planned later this year after a review that could lead to reductions in programs such as aircraft carriers and nuclear arms. Candidates include a new Navy destroyer, the Air Force’s F-22 fighter jets (below) and Army ground-combat vehicles.
And speaking of getting rid of weapons, have you heard of President Obama’s other bone-headed move?
He’s taking guns away from commercial airline pilots!
Immediately after the September 11 attacks, President Bush quietly started a program that allowed pilots to carry guns if they completed a federal safety program.
The purpose is to prevent the pilots from being completely defenseless in the event terrorists tried to seize control of their aircraft.
Now, in a nod to anti-gun wackos, President Obama is quietly ending the federal firearms program for commercial pilots, risking public safety on every one of the flights.
Playing politics with the lives of each and every American, civilian and military. Oh yes, change we can believe in.
