File this one under “Duh“. I’m not the best Catholic, but I’m certainly not the worst. Case in point, I didn’t vote for Barack Obama.
He garnered the majority of Catholic votes in the 2008 election, but a number of Catholic groups now say President Obama is showing a complete lack of regard for their beliefs.
They count his decisions to lift restrictions on abortion and stem cell research among the most offensive.
“As far as the Catholic church goes, there’s no bigger priority for Catholics than human dignity and human life,” said Cathy Ruse, senior fellow at the Family Research Council said. “And the Obama administration has just been an assault on those values again and again in just two months.”
Then in late February, the administration said it would rescind broad protections put in place in the waning days of the Bush administration for health workers who refuse to provide care they find objectionable on personal, moral or religious grounds.
The White House has said the administration was committed to protecting the rights of health care workers who don’t want to perform abortions, but was concerned the Bush language went too far and could restrict services such as family planning and infertility treatments.
Obama’s reversal this month of Bush-era restrictions on federal funding for embryonic stem cell research is the latest disappointment for conservative Catholics.
Not to pick on my fellow Catholics, but is there a reason they didn’t take five minutes to find out what they were voting for in November? Hellllooo! Anyone?

1. I am shocked to find Obama got this much support from Cathloics. 2. How could anyone support a person like Obama and call themselves Catholic! 3. They are surprised by what Obama is doing….are you kidding me? I’m not shocked at all, I knew he would be for killing babies and knew he was for stem cell research..I knew this and I’m not the bright light bulb in the package. Well I hope that the Catholics that voted for the BEAST can face the fact that they are just as guilty of killing babies as Obama and the medical staff that is doing it.

SHAME on the Catholic church for not being more pro-active in educating its “politically lazy” members. I WAS a weekly attending Catholic prior to the election. I am a member of a church in Westfield, IN and part of the Lafayette Diocese. Their Catholic Digest/paper actually printed a commentator who strongly suggested that Bush’s failed policies had led to poverty for many and that this had increased abortions; thus, vote for Obama.
This was and is a lie. The abortion rate dropped under Bush. Secondly, Obama told Planned Parenthood in April of 2007 exactly what he would do- RESCIND ALL restrictions on abortions!
I have not been back to Mass more than once since the “election-to-kill the rights of the unborn.” I cannot stomach the thought of sitting among a group who call themselves Catholics when 52% voted for abortion- all types of abortions, all places around the world, and these Catholics have BLOOD on their hands.
SHAME on EVERY so-called Catholic who voted for Obama. He told us what he would do, so I do not have a problem with him. He did not lie; it was the Catholic’s who gave him the power, the pen that is as lethal as a knife. In November, they left their Catholic teachings at home. I wonder where else these pseudo-catholics leave their principles when such principles do not fit their immediate agenda.
My money will now go to other PRO-LIFE organizations who practice what they preach. Protestants voted over 70% AGAINST Obama. Those protestants were brave enough to stand up for the unborn AND become educated about Obama, may God bless you always.

God bless you, too Pamela. At church a few weeks ago the priest asked us to sign a petition against the abortion policies now in place. I wondered “why did you wait until the damage was already done?”
And did you hear, Notre Dame invited Obama to speak at commencement? I guess not all Catholics have a problem with our new Celebrity in Chief.

THE REVERSAL OF STEM CELL RESEARCH IS TO FIND CURES OR SLOW DOWN
LIFE THREATING DISEASES. THERE ARE TWO SIDES OF EVERY COIN AND
PRESIDENT OBAMA IS TRYING TO SEARCH FOR A CURE. EVERYONE INCLUDING
OBAMA HAVE A RIGHT TO SPEAK HIS OR HERS OPINION. THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IS BASED ON BELIEF JUST AS ANY OTHER RELIGION DOES.
WHEN OBAMA WAS CAMPAIGNING HE WAS FORTH RIGHT WITH HIS VIEWS ON THE SUBJECT & THE AMERICAN PEOPLE VOTED ACCORDINGLY.
PRESIDENT OBAMA DID NOT GO LOOKING FOR THIS SPEAKING ENGAGEMENT, HE WAS INVITED, AND PEOPLE WHO WISH NOT TO BE THERE MADE THEIR CHOICE.
THE ONE THING THAT PUZZLES ME IS THE FACT THAT NEWT GINGRICH ATTACKS OBAMA’S ANTI CATHOLIC VALUES WHEN GINGRICH IS ON HIS THIRD MARRIAGE, HE’S PRO DEATH PENALTY, ANTI MARRIAGE, PRO WARS, IS THE GUARDIAN OF CATHOLIC VALUES. BESIDES THE FACT THAT NEWT GINGRICH WILL OFFICIALLY CONVERT TO CATHOLICISM BECAUSE HIS PRESENT WIFE WANTED HIM TO BE CATHOLIC, NOT HIS OWN CHOICE. WHICH BRINGS ME TO THIS POINT, GINGRICH OR ANYONE ELSE HAS NO RIGHT TO JUDGE OTHERS ON THE RELIGIOUS BELIEFS.
