i dont get it,,what rightsd,,they where illeagal,,and smuggeling drugs,,what part of or constitution gives them rights,,if youre an american citizen yes,,but they where not and committing a crime on top of that,,whats rights,,no wounder we are loosing face to other countries,,who makes these rules up as they go along,,illeagal is just that,,illeagal,,now go over to some other country and pull that crap,,the cops would be heros and not even be thought of to do jail time,,our country is really getting bad,when we cant thank them guys for a job well done for protecting us,,how many millions of dollars did they stop from hitting the streets,,how many lives did they save from doped up people commiting another crime couse this dope didnt hit the streets,,if it was youre kids you would be there shaking thier hands,,its was wrong to imprison them,,just wrong,,now youre telling other people to do the same thing,,dont do youre job and protect america like you where sworn to do,,couse you will go to prison for it,,the jury that convicted them should serve the remainder of thier time for doing such a brainless act

Totally unfair! You call this justice? Since when did the 4th ammendment apply to of all people, a non citizen… worse, a drug smuggler? This incident sets a dangerous precedent for the future. The next time a drug-smuggler gets caught crossing our border, who is to say that he cannot use the “Ramos and Compean vs the United States” ruling as a defense? If the US Constitution also protects the rights of aliens then why in God’s good earth do I need to carry a US passport and declare myself an American?

This whole case doesn’t make sense. Why would important information such as the fact that this guy was a drug smuggler be left out of the trial? Why would the fact that this smuggler violated the terms of his immunity deal be left out? Why was he even given immunity in the first place? It doesn’t sound right. It sounds like the government was trying to make an example of these border agents. If that is the case, it is pretty scary when your government sides with an illegal committing illegal activities over not only one of it’s citizens, but a civil servant. Basically, it seems like there were two sides of the story and the government chose to believe the criminal. How does the government expect to keep border agents if they are going to jail them for doing their jobs?

These guys shot a man with his back turned to them and then tried to cover it up. Both agents should be doing their time just like everybody else that gets convicted of a crime. These guys are cowards.

You do not know the facts. Did you not read the testomony where the agents testified the subject turned toward them and appeared to have a gun. Do you know what a Terry Frisk is and where it comes from. DID you know that the courts have up held that if someone is in possession of drugs it is ok for the officer to believe there are firearms involved. Have you ever worked the streets Sean?
