“Sir, in the Constitution, what in the Constitution could you point to, to give authoritiy for the Treasury for the extraordinary actions that have been taken?” Wam! Pow!
This is great, until the end when Barney Frank opens his mouth.

Um, why is that “great?’ The Constitution specifically gives Congress the power to pass such laws, and Congress–of which Bachmann is a member–did just that. And she calls herself a lawyer? She was lectured to like a junior-high civics student, and deservedly so. Furthermore, Barney Frank justifiably slapped her down for disobeying the rules, which has been Bachmann’s signature ever since she’s been in public office.
Put down the Kool-Aid, pal.

Congress is NOT allowed to pass laws that are unconstitutional. Members actually take an oath to uphold the constitution. If congress wants to change The Constitution they must follow the steps explained in The Constitution to do just that. If this legislation becomes law it will most likely be challenged in The Supreme Court. –And, who knows how that will go since some of the justices think it is okay to seek international law to interpret our Constitution. Michele Bachmann is absolutely right. We need more people like Michele Bachmann serving on The Hill to get our country moving in the right direction again and get us back to the place of our founding principles and values.
