Michelle Obama: Americans are Nice! Who Knew?

Via Gateway Pundit, Michelle Obama tells Oprah Winfrey that Americans really are nice fafter all. Shocking!

Oprah Winfrey: How are you a different woman today than you were when Barack Obama announced his candidacy in 2007?

Michelle Obama: I’m more optimistic. More hopeful. It comes from traveling all over America and connecting with so many different people. And this was long before anyone thought Barack had a chance. This was the kindness of strangers. I think we should all have to get to know one another around kitchen tables. It changed me. It’s helped me to give other people the benefit of the doubt.

Winfrey: What did you see that changed you?

Obama: I saw our shared values. We fundamentally want the same things for ourselves and for each other. We want our kids to be safe and to grow up with some resources and aspire to a slightly better life than ours. No one’s looking for a handout. People just want fairness and opportunity. Winfrey: That’s so good to hear. Because you know what? We live in an “American Idol” culture where it seems like everyone just wants to be in the spotlight.

Obama: That’s not the America I saw. People value their communities. They’re rooting for one another. Even in places where I thought people wouldn’t accept or relate to me, I always walked out feeling like, “Wow — that was fun.”

That changed me. And it helped prepare me for this. Because I think if you’re going to be first lady, you have to believe in the possibility of what this country stands for. You have to see it in action and know what you’re working toward.

I guess it makes sense that Michelle Obama thought Americans are downright mean. The Obama’s lived in Chicago, sat through Reverend Wright’s sermons and travelled in the same circles as William Ayers. In those circumstances, who woudn’t think Americans are rotten?

It took her HOW MANY YEARS to discover this?? How is it that I understood that at the age of twelve? Because I wasn’t in Jeremiah Wright’s church, or what? I cannot believe a woman with her supposed background, education and intellect is just figuring this out. I think even LIBERALS want this stuff, except they want more of it with less work.

    Sheesh.

SHE is ridiculous. Grrrrrrr! Time to knock the “First Chip” off her shoulder. Hey! Maybe you could blog as First Chip of the United States (FCUS–oooh! Looks nasty for a moment! And EXACTLY like what they want to do to us! hahahahaha!) Blog all of their paranoid, victim viewpoints of the world. I giggle at the thought, and there’s not much to giggle about at the moment. Unless of course, you’re the Commander in Chief, then every morning’s security brief is a laugh a minute.

    Ah, bitterness. There ya go.

Hmmm, code words for “white people?”

MO has lived in a black racist world for so long. Her thesis was racist, her minister was racist, and so forth. She never left Chicago to live in Washington, D.C., when BO was senator — she stayed home in her comfy little racist world.

Now she growing and learning on our dime. She may be first, but she’ll never be a lady.

It’s a shame I don’t believe a word she says. I guess it’s even more of a shame that alot of the country does. The use of such feelgood phrases on a continual basis, from both she and Barack, just gives me the creeps. No one talks like that in a real conversation, unless they are trying to convince you of something.

They’re always trying to sell us something, aren’t they. Usually a crap sandwich, so they have to dress it up with soothing words.

…”you have to believe in the possibility of what this country stands for. You have to see it in action and know what you’re working toward.”…

This is the double speak spin of an over educated fool bereft of common sense or wisdom. What in the hell is she seeing in action that characterizes what this nation believes in???

The Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights, and the Constitution of this country believe in the possibility of a free and sovereign people, not a nation in servitude to the stinking government.
