Talk about a fair weather friend! Now that Obama doesn’t think he needs them anymore, he’s kicked the press to the curb.
Barack Obama was elected commander in chief promising to run the most transparent presidential administration in American history.
This achievement and the overall promise of his historic administration caused the National Newspaper Publishers Assn. to name him “Newsmaker of the Year.”
The president is to receive the award from the federation of black community newspapers in a White House ceremony this afternoon.
The Obama White House has closed the press award ceremony to the press.
He may want to think twice about scorning his admirers. If his job performance continues to fail to meet expectations he’s going to need all the cover they can offer him.
The only thing better would be if they would close the ceremony to the black community. Then it could be a black community press ceremony without anyone from the press or black community and he could spout off about bringing this country together.
