I guess if you’re Harry Reid your idea of a moderate is Ruth Bader Ginsberg and upholding the Constitution of the United States of America is only something radical right wingers do. Poor little Harry feels he was misled by John Roberts. Boo Hoo!
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Friday that John Roberts misled the Senate during his confirmation hearings by pretending to be a moderate — and that the United States is now “stuck” with him as chief justice.
“Roberts didn’t tell us the truth. At least Alito told us who he was,” Reid said, referring to Samuel Alito, the second Supreme Court justice nominated by President George W. Bush. “But we’re stuck with those two young men, and we’ll try to change by having some moderates in the federal courts system as time goes on — I think that will happen.”
I remember watching the Roberts confirmation hearings. It was pretty amusing watching a mental giant go up against the dimwits in the Senate. I suppose if Roberts wanted to fool them he certainly has the wits to have done so, but I don’t recall Roberts making any misleading statements.
I’m sure Harry will be over his little pity party in no time. He has big things to do, like passing cap and trade legislation and socializing the health care system in America.
ANNNNNND he’s disappointed that these are two YOUNG men–the inference being, he can’t even hope they’ll croak soon and open up a spot. I want to declare here and now, as a Nevadan and a Mormon, WE REJECT CLEAN FACE HARRY REID–THIS WAS AN INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS, HE IS NOT REALLY ONE OF US. .
