Germany 1933 vs. United States 2009

Many pundits and historians have been comparing President Obama to Adolf Hitler. I’ve even done so myself. There are some startling similaries.

Both won people over with soaring rehtorical skills and the use of propaganda. Both took power at a time of economic hardship. Both men promised change and economic security for the people. Both had throngs of adoring fans chanting mindless slogans. Hitler wanted to, and did, control the German economy, and just about every other aspect of the lives of the German people. We are seeing (just as plain as day) that Barack Obama has similar intentions.

But there are differences.

Things were much worse in Germany in 1933 than they are in America in 2009. The Germans were still rebuilding from the destruction of World War I and in the midst of the Great Depression. Certainly things in America today aren’t nearly as dire as they were leading up to Hitler’s rise to power. (Not that you’d know it from the rhetoric of Barack Obama and the Democrats.)

It is doubtful that Barack Obama wants to invade Canada or Mexico. In fact, Barack Obama doesn’t seem to have any intention of taking over any foreign nations. Quite the contrary, he’s perfectly willing to hand US sovereignty over to the United Nations. (Maybe that’s why he’s campaigning around the globe. Once that new world order takes hold he can run for President of the World.)

Another difference between Germany in 1933 and the United States in 2009 is information technology. Information back then wasn’t so readily available as it is today. Now we know what’s happening around the world in real time. (Which would explain Obama’s attempts to control information, which is the topic of a later post.)

Unlike Hitler, Obama is counting on Americans being too busy and pre-occupied to notice the ongoing erosion of our rights. It’s been going on for years, and for the most part people just accept it, or gripe a bit but don’t think there’s anything they can do about it. He’s banking on the fact that the media will continue not just covering for him, but cheerleading for him. He believes he can take control of all aspects of the US economy and the lives of US citizens without firing a shot.

What he isn’t counting on is that Americans are slowly starting to wake up to what’s happening. We are a republic made up of 50 sovereign states, so the states still have the opportunity to assert their rights. It’s up to We the People to let our state governments know we demand such action. Hopefully it won’t be too late.

The only thing i would say to this is that Americans need to wake up faster….and though we are waking…slowly is just the word.

When your houes is on fire and your loved ones are sleeping, you don’t wake up nor wake them up slowly and softly…you scream, yell, rouse, run and all get out of the house…

Those of us already wide awake and feeling the flames of destruction need to be as vocal and loud as possible. Not a raving lunatic…but not back down…not for anything. Our “HOUSE” is too important to let burn.

Thank you again for bringing a great article and food for thought…

Interestingly, in the last couple of weeks I quizzed people about the Missouri Terror act. Very few are aware of it. I get deer in the headlights look.
At a gun shop the guy was clueless as to current gun legislation in the works.
While we are busy reading and writing, I believe most are still on cruise.
At the rate things are going, the wake up call will be when he comes to take their guns.

Here’s how simple it is, the majority wants to be spoon fed their news by the media and the media feeds them what the media wants them to hear. Truth is the first casualty and any attempt to revive it is met with the blank stare, and denial. These idiots don’t want the truth, it is inconvenient, often uncomfortable, and requires a level of thought beyond reality TV and Dancing with the stars.

The media hits them in the face with a little shock and awe, tells them how they should interpret what they have seen and then cuts to some tits-N-ass burger commercial so the thought never gets dissected and studied. You have all seen it, you know what I’m talking about, people care more about what a slut britney spears acts like than taking charge of their lives.

The majority will whine about some new tax or a new fee, and yet they never once try to oppose it, why, they are lulled into submission by smoke and mirrors.

I listen to Mike Church a lot. He’s a student of history and does a great job of making history interesting. He brought up the American Revolution. I think it was Adams that said something like “we have one third Tory, one third true blue, and one third timid.” So Church argues, how is that any different from today. A third of us know what’s going on, a third are Kool Aid drinkers and the other third just need to wake up and find out what’s going on. That’s where we come in, to inform the timid, or ‘independent’ as we now call them.

While searching for the one third quote I came across another good quote from Adams:

“The Revolution was effected before the war commenced. The Revolution was in the minds and hearts of the people… This radical change in the principles, opinions, sentiments, and affections of the people was the real American Revolution.”

The left’s revolution has gone on for decades. What’s wrong with us trying to win over the hearts and minds of our fellow Americans? This is probably more appropriate to my last post, but hey, it’s late.

We have to reach people one at a time and try to use some finesse, I have to be careful there. I sometimes am so frustrated at the wanton blindness that I scare off the timid seekers. Patience is truly a virtue.

I know what you mean. I’m better writing because I have to take the time to think about what I’m saying, back it up with links, etc. When I’m trying to convince people, well, like you said…I need to work on the ‘finesse.’
