The Obama administration couldn’t be more ridiculous if they tried!
WASHINGTON (AP) – The president’s new science adviser said Wednesday that global warming is so dire, the Obama administration is discussing radical technologies to cool Earth’s air.
John Holdren told The Associated Press in his first interview since being confirmed last month that the idea of geoengineering the climate is being discussed. One such extreme option includes shooting pollution particles into the upper atmosphere to reflect the sun’s rays. Holdren said such an experimental measure would only be used as a last resort.“It’s got to be looked at,” he said. “We don’t have the luxury of taking any approach off the table.”
Holdren outlined several “tipping points” involving global warming that could be fast approaching. Once such milestones are reached, such as complete loss of summer sea ice in the Arctic, it increases chances of “really intolerable consequences,” he said.
Twice in a half-hour interview, Holdren compared global warming to being “in a car with bad brakes driving toward a cliff in the fog.”
Is this guy high? It’s the Obama administration that should be compared to being “in a car with bad brakes driving toward a cliff in the fog.” That statement sums up perfectly everything they’re doing.
And doesn’t this radical plan to block the sun’s rays just prove that it’s the sun that causes the earth to warm (and lack of sun that causes it to cool) and not carbon dioxide? I hope someone thinks to look into what the pollution they shoot into the atmosphere will do to air quality for those of us who have to breathe.
These people have completely lost their minds.

This whole mind-set gives me a headhache. It’s almost as if all the science that has preceded Bush’s 2 terms has just gone away!! Ever since Al Gore opened his mind and his wallet to these bastions of anti-American groups (out of election year envy, no doubt) the truth no longer means anything. Does anyone remember learning in science class that the earth goes through these cycles of cooling and warming every few millenia ? The facts are there!! Does anyone point out the fact that the “Scientific Consensus” in 1492 was that the earth was FLAT??? Why does the ‘scientific consensus’ of today hold any more water than in 1492? Why, let us say, have the polar ice-caps receded every 1000 yrs or so, over the past several millenia, when there were no cars, no coal-powered stations, no traffic jams, no 8 oz bottles of purified water???? There can be no answer in todays media for that question….because it would not serve the purpose of the now-empowered LEFT!! Global Warming IS A LIE!!! I am sick to death of being told that being an active human being on this planet and utilizing all man’s acomplishments today is to be a scourge to the earth!! READ GENESIS 1:27-31 and hopefully you will understand. And I for one, am going to burn my garbage in my back yard, I will accelerate up to a stop light…and I will even drink myself sick on little plastic bottles of water so that I can maintain that little bit of control over my life that is very quickly being taken away from me and my family. When the country goes dark and the waves of encroaching shoreline approach my back door…I will be there, on my back step, with wading boots and all…running my car radio with the motor idling, listening to Rush Limbaugh, Bob Jones, Rusty Humphries, John Gibson…. smoking a beef brisket, and if I have to… burning every incandescant lightbulb in the house with a gas powered generator. Just look for the brightest spot on the Gulf of Mexico as you all head this way to stay warm. But don’t come without some chocolate bars, marshmallows and graham crackers. ‘Cause’ that’s just our way down here.

Global warming is just a marketing slogan; suck the libs in and make them panic and feel guilty and sell lots of “green” stuff and “green” jobs. If they’re serious, ban those all-terrain vehicles I despise so much (they come between me and my communing with nature in Utah). Aside from national park personnel and rescue personnel, they’re not NEEDED. They’re generally motorized babsitters for the under 16′s who crash them every year. Look, it’s a simple thing that’s not necessary (unlike a car–and even my baby SUV which had to accommodate a 50 pound wheelchair everyday!); think about the pollution not created, the gasoline saved, the naturelands preserved, the lives saved. But nary a peep about these things—because that lobby is way too big for the libs to take on, way too much money to be lost there.
Until they’re serious about protecting nature in this very simple way, or an equally elegant solution, forget about COOLING THE SUN! They’re the same ones who barked about water shortages, yanked all the trees out of Las Vegas “because it’s a desert out there, we have to conserve water!” and then were shocked about the rise in pollution. Hello! Ever learned anything about trees??? Know what they DO???

Aren’t you ashamed of yourself? 98% of the world’s scientists not only believe in global warming, but conclude its worsening quicker than we could have ever thought. Politicizing the issue to get back at democrats is not only childish, but the epitome of biting of your nose to spite your face. Lets pretend for a moment that global warming is some sort of ridiculous conspiracy webbed across the entire scientific community, WE ARE STILL SLAVES TO FOREIGN OIL. It only makes economic and progressive sense ( I forgot you dont believe in science, even though it gives us nearly every aspect of modern life) to move to better fuels. But you fools are all pawns in a big oil money scheme. I cannot believe after eight years of enormous blunders that rotted the country from the bottom up, from the economy to Kartrina to torture (which ruined our world reputation) how republicans have the gaul to not SHUT THE FUCK UP. @ Disgusted: Give us a link to the 98% of ALL scientists. That’s a good place to start. We’ll see how many of them are on the climate change payroll. We have a list of scientists too, and it’s a confirmed fact that the earth has not warmed since, maybe the late 1980′s – something like that. Katrina: You can lay that at the feet of years of corrupted governance, not to mention what was going on in the city of New Orleans. The state ripped off federal funds to repair the levees by the millions, and then there’s that bright guy, Mayor Ray Nagin.
If you are talking about waterboarding as torture, get a grip. Many of our own soldiers are waterboarded in an effort to save their lives. The soldiers go back to the barracks and carry-on. Khalid Sheik Mohammed went right back to his jail cell each time he was waterboarded. If you want to talk about a damaged image around the world due to waterboarding, you are in the wrong company.

Okay. Look, guys, I agree with both sides. For millennia, our planet has seen global warming and ice age time and time again. However, humans have accelerated this process by an insane amount. we are releasing green house gas emissions and this is causing gases like carbon and nitrogen to be trapped. This is not what usually, the thing that gov’t and stuff are trying to say, and go onto this website climate.nasa.gov and go onto the time machine. Check it out, this is valid research done by NASA with none of that prediction crap that seems to be all the hype at the moment.
Accept that we’re not helping our environment, stop burning shit just for the fuck of it and drive a prius.
