Random Ramblings

I have a feeling something is happening. The silent majority is finally – finally – standing up. That’s a very good thing.

I have no illisions that my taxes will go down any time soon. At this point, I only hope they don’t go up. But watching the way our state and federal politicians are spending money, well, let’s just say I’m more likely to win the lottery than have my taxes not go up. And I don’t play the lottery.

Wasn’t the PORKulus bill intended to keep state taxes from going up? Tell that to New Yorkers. Our state lawmakers have left no stone unturned when it comes to tax increases. So we get tax increases in our state and huge federal debt on top of it.

Back to the silent majority and the tea parties. I believe this is just the beginning. We’re at a breaking point. Although a majority of Americans said they’re happy with the taxes they pay now (almost half no longer pay any federal income tax and receive a ‘refund’ to boot) once the tab from all of this spending comes due we are all in for a world of hurt. I have no idea how long it will take for the real pain to begin, but it’s going to happen and it isn’t going to be pretty.

I don’t care how many promises President Obama makes, like lowering taxes for people who pay no taxes or simplifying the tax code - there aren’t enough taxpayers to foot the bill. What happens when the well runs dry? If you aren’t in a union or part of another favorite Democrat constituency you’re going to be the “Forgotten Man.”

I spoke to a lady today who works for a local school district. She opted out of joining the union. She told me they took union dues out of her paycheck anyway. Is that what America has turned into? She didn’t want to pay dues to fund politicians she doesn’t agree with. So she took the day off and stood up to say “Enough!”

Finally, I know Barack Obama and the Democrats won. They remind me of it every other day. But many people who voted for them really had no idea what they were voting for. Hope and change – just words. And those who will be most affected by what they’re doing today are too young to vote. These politicians are literally stealing from America’s children. That’s illegal and abusive. It’s got to stop.

Politicos on BOTH sides are clueless.

Too many of them have NEVER had a job in the private sector.
Too many of them have never had TO MAKE PAYROLL.

    The next step:
We the People stop having our taxes withheld from our paychecks and DON’T them in on April 15th either…Now THAT’S a tax revolt!
