What Were They Thinking?

When it comes to stupid this takes the cake!

Mayor Bloomberg went ballistic Monday after the U.S. military – without any warning to the public – buzzed New York City with one of the presidential planes trailed by an F-16 fighter jet.

Flying in as low as 1000 feet to 150 feet above New York City and taking photographs along the way, the planes circled the Statue of Liberty and flew over Manhattan, Staten Island, and New Jersey – then vanished.

Before they were gone, hundreds of frightened people had jammed the emergency lines, thousands of terrified people evacuated from buildings in the city and across the river in Jersey, and many New Yorkers had flashbacks to the 9/11 attacks.

The White House, via Robert Gibbs, intially denied any advance knowledge of this incident. But I just heard on Fox News that, in fact, the White House not only knew about it, they approved it!

Isn’t this supposed to be the smartest, most sensitive White House ever? Perhaps the horror of 9/11 has worn off the Obama administration, but that day is seared in the memory of most New Yorkers, and Americans for that matter. You’d think they would know better.

Can you imagine if this happened while Bush was president? We’d never hear the end of it. Good grief, what a bunch of idiots.

Not just stupid. Not just isolated, elitist thinking. Not just insensitive. I think you’d have to be a state of constant drool to get away with saying “we didn’t realize it would cause anyone to feel upset”. News reports are now saying that the White House specifically told NY officials not to say anything publicly, for fear that the aircraft could be shot down—I guess in a “man caused disaster” by an “undocumented foreign contingency plan detainee”.

I live on the West coast. I only had to watch 9-11 on tv (wondering if friends and relatives were outrunning the dust, or IN it, for hours)—and yet my first thought if someone had suggested this would have been ‘you will have to advertise this to that community; you have people with permanent post traumatic stress now, and they need to know about this ahead of time. Some may need to stay home”. Can you imagine how many people have just been set back 7 years in their therapy?

These people are loathesomely unconcerned with other people.

So what is going on in the world of true importance while Hannity flaps his diseased gums about this? Sounds more like a free let’s bitch alot session to me.
Outside of the fact that it was a huge waste of money, and crass, it has no newsworthiness. GET OVER IT

Has your dentist entered your picture in their computer records yet? You know, the ones they keep that fall under medical records? They tried to put mine in their data base yesterday, “so they would be able to tell who I was”. I nixed that in a heartbeat.

Yes, I wear my tinfoil hat with pride, and I’ll continue to wear it.

No dentist asking for a photo, but the schools are now requiring a “dental statement” as if we, the parents, are too inept to ensure our children have proper dental care. Of course, they sent us the paperwork after the kids went to the dentist.
