I know I can’t afford a Lexus. So why am I paying for one with my tax dollars? The Wall Street Journal had to search thousands of pages of congressional spending records because the information isn’t available electronically. You’ll be stunned at what they found we the taxpayers are on the hook for.
Rep. Michael Turner – R Ohio – $1435 for a Sony Digital SLR Camera
Rep. Alcee Hastings – D Florida – $24370 for a lease on a 2008 Lexus GS450H
Rep. Rodney Alexander – R Louisiana – $20,000 for a lease on a Toyota Highlander hybrid SUV
Rep. Eni Faleomavaega – D American Samoa – $1473 for a flat screen TV
Rep. Howard Berman – D California – $84,000 for personalized calenders for his constituents
President Obama just told us we’re broke. They’re considering all sorts of interesting new ways of squeezing more money out of the American taxpayer. They’re spending money like drunken sailors on luxury items for themselves themselves. And they couldn’t even lease their luxury automobiles from US carmakers. What a disgrace.

Why would these things not be continually reported upon? It makes me so angry.

The story was in the Wall Street Journal this morning, first thing I read after I woke up. What a crappy way to start the day.(Not to dis the WSJ.)

The only surprising thing is that the MSM doesn’t report on the Republicans in the list.
