Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons requested a meeting with President Obama after Obama said “You can’t get corporate jets. You can’t go take a trip to Las Vegas or go down to the Super Bowl on the taxpayer’s dime.” Gibbons’s request was turned down and Gibbons isn’t happy.
“I am disappointed at the hypocrisy shown by this Administration,” Gibbons said, “President Obama is coming to Las Vegas later this month for a political fundraiser, but he will not help the struggling families in Las Vegas and Nevada who are out of work because of his reckless comments.” Governor Gibbons noted, “President Obama is coming to Las Vegas to raise campaign cash for Senator Harry Reid, apparently our money is good enough for the President, but our tourism, jobs, and economic future are not.” Gibbons added, “This is politics, pure and simple, President Obama stood for change, but all he has done is brought negative economic change to Nevada.”
Well said, Governor Gibbons, well said!

Poor government officials. They either publicly supported Obama or offered tacit approval through their unwillingness to call him out during the campaign. And now they are experiencing voters’ remorse. This guy was a Marxist from the get go and now all of a sudden these cocktail swilling moderates are upset that he’s not what they bargained for. Well let the buyer beware. If the media or anyone in public had had the guts to ask hard questions and demand something other than hope and change-which is really smoke and mirrors-perhaps we would not be dealing with a government that promises to take actions that will absolutely cripple us economically, socially and culturally.

I think that it is worth commenting that I was proud to learn that the CEO (Jeff Turner) of the company I work for (Spirit Aerosystems) Has been getting involved in turning around the economy locally as well as ssaving many jobs in the aircraft industry! Gov. Patterson was at Spirit Today to sign the House Bill 2374 into law. This extends unemployment benefits by an additional 26 weeks for people attending approved training courses. This is helping out the aircraft industry and the unemployed to become better trained so that they can have other avenues of employment. Obama is shutting the doors of many businesses and Turner is trying to make it easier for people to find employment.
Turner has also said that He will do everything he can to keep his TEAM together here at Spirit and layoffs are not in his plans.

I’m confused.
Does this mean these “approved training courses” are for aerospace jobs or the program allows those in aerospace who lose their jobs retrain for something else?
Despite GOV Patterson’s position in this matter, I’m always skeptical when politcos use a business to help frame their programs. That is to say, SELL their AGENDA.
But Sam, why so?………One word: Caterpillar.
