Barack Obama is very proud of cutting taxes for millions of Americans. For single tax filers the tax cut is about $400 per year. That’s not enough to pay for a pair of Michelle Obama’s tennis shoes, but she’s really special and you’re not so get over it. Wear keds like the rest of us.
Hopefully millions of Americans haven’t spent their tax credit on keds, or anything else, for that matter. It seems the IRS screwed up tax withholding tables and they’re allowing Americans to keep too much of the money they’ve earned.
But new tax withholding tables issued by the IRS could cause millions of taxpayers to get hundreds of dollars more than they are entitled to under the credit, money that will have to be repaid at tax time.
At-risk taxpayers include a broad swath of the public: married couples in which both spouses work; workers with more than one job; retirees who have federal income taxes withheld from their pension payments and Social Security recipients with jobs that provide taxable income.
The Internal Revenue Service acknowledges problems with the withholding tables but has done little to warn average taxpayers.

I work TWO fricken’ jobs. My spouse also works.
I’ve NEVER been unemployed, taken public assistance or dodged paying taxes.
Come April 2110 I better NOT have to send in $$$$.
I propose if payment is due bedacuse of the govt’s mistake we all NOT send in the payment.
Now THAT’S a tax revolt.
Don’t Tread On Me!

This “Tax Break” is a friggen JOKE. Between the STUPID spending bills and pending (Grrr) Cap and Trade prices will be going up ALL OVER.
This tax break will only be a speed bump for the run away spending train as it come to run us over.

Sounds like the days of Nikita when the boys in Moscow lived well while the people labored to build the communist juggernaut. People have short memories. My guess it’s the lack of maturity and still believing in fairy tales.
The sooner we get the commies out of the white house the happier everyone in the U.S. will. No class and even less brains. Why would anyone pay that much for tennis shoes. And yes, their will be a tax bill for the over credit.

She wears $500 sneaks to “feed the poor” (who I’m sure recognize the cost of those shoes that they couldn’t afford to dream about) and her husband giggles over the current crisis on 60 minutes while some people are so desperate over their personal financial ruin that they blow their brains out (and sometimes take their kids with them). Is this our “hope”? People so insufferably elite they don’t even have the decency to PRETEND they are decent?
I want my cowboy back.

…and I keep trying to explain to friends & family about this “tax credit” that really isn’t one—if they don’t adjust their withholding to compensate, they’ll either have it shaved off their small return or end up owing money. I’m not sure anybody understands what I’m telling them. There’s just too much stuff to try to process!
