Did your salary nearly double this year? No? Well then, you and your employer probably didn’t help get Obama elected. MSNBC and Keith Olbermann did, and Keith Olbermann has been handsomely rewarded for his efforts. Prior to GE (parent company of MSNBC) receiving bailout funds, Olbermann earned – and I use that word loosely – a salary of $4 million a year. After GE received their bailout Keith Olbermann received a raise. Not just any raise, his salary nearly doubled, to the tune of $7.5 million a year.

Thanks for the link, LC. This bailout of GE began long before we knew what was going on, in my opinion. I think Obama and Geithner were working on this early-on in the campaign. Interesting thing, GE CEO sat on the Federal Reserve Board – Geithner’s board.

The US tax department needs to take a close look at GE’s books. I worked in an area that managed their expatriates and they are deducting so called “US taxes” from foreigners that they keep on a separate US payroll. Those taxes are not passed on to the US goverment.
