Imagine if George Bush had opened the White House to discuss the need to keep Gitmo open. The critics would have been howling. Yet this administration looks more and more like a dictatorship. And while the media chases after the Next American Idol or what governor is sleeping with foreigners, essential cap and trade and healthcare legislation is being crammed through Congress without due diligence, overview or opposition.
