Democrats just won’t rest until they’ve completely destroyed the United States economy. It looks like Farm Belt Democrats are caving to Nancy Pelosi and the left wing of their party, or Pelosi wouldn’t have scheduled a vote for Friday on Cap and Tax. Farm Belt voters might want to hurry up and call your representatives at 202-224-3121. Let them know that if they sell you out you’ll remember on election day.
It isn’t just the Farm Belt that will take a hit by this legislation. Check out the map at Powerline showing which states will be most adversely affected. It looks like a direct transfer of wealth from small states to the largest states. They think they can get away with it because they think you’re stupid. You can learn more about the cost of Cap and Tax vs. the benefits here. Europe’s already shown us that this scheme won’t work, same thing with health care. But the statists don’t really care about that, do they?
Passing this legislation during a recession is like committing economic suicide. It’s insane. In addition to calling your representative at 202-224-3121 you can also sign the American Solutions petition urging Congress not to pass any new tax on energy. I urge you to do so today.
