More questions about Judge Sotomayor
By
We’ve all heard about Judge Sotomayor’s 2001 comment about how a “wise Latina woman” would be a better judge than a white man. The left tried to explain that comment away, saying it was taken out of context. A good follow up question would be whether she was taken out of context in 1994 when she made a similar comment. She’s evolved a bit, back in 1994 she left out the part about being Latina.
If you don’t like those comments, you’re really not going to want to hear about her thesis at Princeton. Among other things, the young Sonia Sotomayor referred to the United States Congress as the “North American Congress” or the “Mainland Congress.” She also asserted that she was in favor of Puerto Rican independence, which certainly wasn’t a mainstream position to hold at the time.
Let’s hope one of our “North American Senators” has the good sense to ask her if those views have evolved over the years.
