Typical: EPA suppressed evidence against global warming

You would think that the EPA and other global warming alarmists would be thrilled to find evidence that refutes the global warming hypethesis. Global warming – climate change – whatever you want to call it is just that – a hypothesis. It certainly hasn’t been proven. So why aren’t these people jumping for joy? The scientific evidence no longer supports the hypothesis, we don’t have to destroy our economy to regulate carbon!  We aren’t going to be swallowed by the sea! Hooray!

If only. Rather than celebrate the good news, the EPA shelved the 98 page report and reassigned its author.

The Environmental Protection Agency may have suppressed an internal report that was skeptical of claims about global warming, including whether carbon dioxide must be strictly regulated by the federal government, according to a series of newly disclosed e-mail messages.

Less than two weeks before the agency formally submitted its pro-regulation recommendation to the White House, an EPA center director quashed a 98-page report that warned against making hasty “decisions based on a scientific hypothesis that does not appear to explain most of the available data.”

The EPA official, Al McGartland, said in an e-mail message (PDF) to a staff researcher on March 17: “The administrator and the administration has decided to move forward…and your comments do not help the legal or policy case for this decision.”

The e-mail correspondence raises questions about political interference in what was supposed to be an independent review process inside a federal agency–and echoes criticisms of the EPA under the Bush administration, which was accused of suppressing a pro-climate change document.

Alan Carlin, the primary author of the 98-page EPA report, said in a telephone interview on Friday that his boss, McGartland, was being pressured himself. “It was his view that he either lost his job or he got me working on something else,” Carlin said. “That was obviously coming from higher levels.”

E-mail messages released this week show that Carlin was ordered not to “have any direct communication” with anyone outside his small group at EPA on the topic of climate change, and was informed that his report would not be shared with the agency group working on the topic.

“I was told for probably the first time in I don’t know how many years exactly what I was to work on,” said Carlin, a 38-year veteran of the EPA. “And it was not to work on climate change.” One e-mail orders him to update a grants database instead.

So much for transparency. So much for fiscal responsibility. Nope. Can’t do that. Why, Nancy Pelosi, AlGore and all of their cronies would probably lose millions if global warming is debunked.

Obama claimed that the average American would not bear the brunt of this historic tax-increase: he stated that instead ““It is paid for by the polluters who currently emit dangerous carbon emissions.”

Just compare this outrageous falsehood to Ronald Reagans’ famous quote:

“The most dangerous myth is the demagoguery that business can be made to pay a larger share, thus relieving the individual. Politicians preaching this are either deliberately dishonest, or economically illiterate, and either one should scare us.

Business doesn’t pay taxes, and who better than business to make this message known? Only people pay taxes, and people pay as consumers every tax that is assessed against a business.”

And after the way the rammed this through the House with little debate, without legislators even reading it… and while quarantining the GOP from any meaningful input whatsoever, any foolhardy individuals who still believe Obama’s threadbare “bipartisanship” spiel ought to have their head examined.

I cannot believe that the people in possisions of power in this counrty are as croocked or as unitteligent as they appear to be! First we they scared the public into allowing the FDR’s, “new deal”, (which is a complete sham) and now they are going to scare us into allowing the Cap and Trade bill to be passed. What farce will they try and sell us on next? That scientist have found evidence confirming the existence of the boogie man! They will probobly raise our taxes to install boogie man traps! If you don’t see that this country is heading down a dangerous road, than you are one of the many who have fallen victom to the gread filled politician in this counry. Who have placed their own personal agendas infront of the well being of this great nation.
They will scare the American public into giving up their freedoms, one cent, one regulation, and one lie at a time!
