The democrats must not be feeling very confident about their agenda. If so they would surely allow enough time for these monstrous bills to be read by the every representative as well as the folks they puport the represent. But if they did, the public might find out just how hazardous they are to our liberty, economy, and even our health.
On Thursday Harry Reid acknowledged that he cannot guarantee that he would allow the public a week to read the Senate health care bill before it comes up for a vote.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D- Nev.) will not commit to giving senators and the public a full week to read and review the final version of a health-care reform bill before he holds a final vote on it.
Reid confessed at his Thursday news briefing that he did not have “a lot of time” to read the 1,071-page stimulus bill before voting on it in February.
He was unapologetic, however, about the way Congress rushed that bill through before it could be reviewed by senators and the public, and declined to commit to giving senators and the public at least a week to read the final version of health-care reform bill before calling a vote on it.
“Looking back, I don’t know how much time people had,” Reid said about the stimulus bill in response to a question from CNSNews.com. “I know that I didn’t have a lot of time.”
Reid was asked the following question: “When the stimulus came up earlier this year members and citizens had less than two days to review the final bill before it was voted on. Will you commit to give Americans at least a week to review the full conference version of the health-care bill before it’s voted on?”
The majority leader did not directly answer the question.
“That was a very hectic conference, we felt it was imperative that we move this bill forward to help the economy, and in hindsight we did that right thing,” he recalled.
Reid did not commit to more time. Instead, he promised the Senate would “follow the rules.”
Please! Follow the rules? What rules are those Harry? Is there a rule that says no senator or congressman shall read a bill before voting on it? Is there a rule that says you must ram your socialist agenda through both Houses before the public has a chance to find out what the hell it is you and your cronies are up to? Is there a rule that says your bills have to be stuffed with pork for your favorite constituencies?
I have a set of rules for them: it’s called the Constitution. Perhaps they should try reading it and then reading the bills they vote for. And then explain to the American people how the bills they vote for are Constitutional. But I guess that’s just too much to ask.

Why dont the Dems just come on out and say that reading ANYTHING does nothing but promulgate an informed citizenry that would then not be blinded by false hope, glitz and hype and would proceed to sweep these career thugs
out of office? (hows that for butcherin’ the language? Good thing I READ better than I write.)
