2009 – The Summer that Wasn’t

As politicians figure out how to destroy our economy with a global warming bill, summer is passing us by in the Northeast. It’s cold! The average high temperature for the first six days of July this year was almost six degrees cooler than normal! Brrr! And it isn’t just Central New York. Record low temperatures have been recorded all across the Northeast. But sure, let’s stick with that global warming story.

If they pass Cap & Trade it’ll be the economy that wasn’t.

you’ve got that right, Sam. Add in socialized health care and we’re doomed.

The senate just recently passed $600 billion health care overhaul bill, Its like Obama has personal concierge services with this senate. So much for our system of checks and balances. With the government giving money to so many banks, and business its like they are also destroying our system of capitalism. I am a current undergraduate engineering student working my butt off to make it big, I’m already employed at a firm, and make to much as a single male of my age. But everyday I lose incentive to make a difference, or to keep trying just as hard, seems like everyone is getting stuff regardless. With the way things are headed, all the money any wealthy American makes is going to be practicably non existing and not available to those who worked hard to achieve their state. Where is the incentive to work hard, change the world, or even bother to be innovative if bills like cap and trade will limit what we can do, or if Obamacare passes why in the world would I ever want to be a doctor if salaries would only lower, and even in private practice I would be giving all my money to the program in which I will not even be using!

Along with a tax increase, and a bill for the overhaul for the health care system, there will be no more incentive for people to make, or-if smart enough, even claim a good amount of their taxes. Which will eventually lead to an even larger national deficit because of the money that we would have to spend to keep the health care program running.

That’s not the only thing at risk! With wealthy business owners being forced to pay more, they will be forced to cut jobs to make up for the money they would loose, Therefore increasing unemployment.

Non-profits are also at risk! With the amount of wealthy Americans decreasing, or loosing more money to the government, what do you think would be the first things they cut? **Charitable contributions!!** Most non-profits are funded by wealthy individuals, who understand how and where money should be distributed.

All this world order, and internal changes going on is a step towards the halt of human progression in this world. There will be no more innovation without money, and certainly not with all these restrictions in place.

Ill tell you what, first thing I will be doing after receiving my diploma the way things are going, is applying in some other country that wont take advantage of my hard work, or tax me for wanting to help the world. Don’t get me wrong, I love America, it has aloud me to get to where I am today, but soon after all these changes take place, the America i grew up in wont be the same anymore.

Temperatures have been dropping for the past 10 yeaars, but don’t let that influenc our thinking. It might involve logic.

  5. [...] I checked the calendar just to be sure, and sure enough, it looks like winter’s started early this year. What makes it worse is that summer started so late. [...]
