Brilliant! California to close budget gap by releasing inmates!

Democrat Republican governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger cut a deal with his fellow democrats to close the state’s huge budget gap. The plan is to release inmates from prison!

The state budget deal negotiated by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and legislative leaders would reduce the population of California prisons by nearly 27,000 inmates in the current fiscal year. [...]

The proposal, details of which were obtained by The Times, would save a total of $1.2 billion in the coming year.

Brilliant! Why hasn’t anyone thought of this sooner? We should do this on a national basis. Let’s release all the prisoners and have health care for all!  (We’re sure going to need it.)

They have great ideas out there! Next, what thet should do is import more illegals and hire them to do state jobs for half the oay they are paying to the current employees. It would save lots of money. Will any unionized prison guards lose their jobs by turning prisoners loose?
