I watched Chris Dodd’s press conference this afternoon when he announced he has prostate cancer. I wish him the best as far as his health, but I still want to see him voted out of office next year. His appearance today just made me wish it would be this year. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen too many loved ones suffer and die from this awful disease to ever wish it on anyone. But Dodd using his cancer to promote a government take over of the US medical industry was just too opportunistic for me.
Here is video of Chris Dodd, lauding the health care plan that we, the hard working American taxpayers provide to him. How nice for him. What he didn’t do was agree to enroll in the health care plan that he wants for the rest of us. That is what I find so despicable about Chris Dodd. The hardworking taxpayers pay his salary, pension and life time health insurance. All the while, he is working to make certain that none of us will ever have access to such a health plan.
While I wish the senator good health, it doesn’t change the fact that he needs to be voted out of office next year. For the sake of our republic and our children. Dodd has to go, cancer or not. It could be argued that he is a cancer on our republic. Plus, he says he’ll be just fine. Hey, he has the best health policy the taxpayers can buy!
From reader Carly:
Just saw Dodd’s press conference about his prostate cancer. While it’s obviously a sensitive issue for he and his family, he made a point to say that his diagnosis underscores the need for health care reform. Um, it also underscores just how lucky we are in the United States…
According to this article, cancer survivability rates for prostate cancer are significantly higher in the US than in Europe (99.3% vs 77.5%):
Survival was significantly higher in the United States for all solid tumors, except testicular, stomach, and soft-tissue cancer, the authors report. The greatest differences were seen in the major cancer sites: colon and rectum (56.2% in Europe vs 65.5% in the United States), breast (79.0% vs 90.1%), and prostate cancer (77.5% vs 99.3%), and this “probably represents differences in the timeliness of diagnosis,” they comment.

If Senator Dodd wishes to use his diagnosis as a teachable moment, at least share all the facts with the American people.
Thanks, Carly! I couldn’t have said it better myself!

Health care reform my aching ass, the weasel SOB’s health care has zero relation to the general publics health care. I hope the rotten POS dies today and gets to stand in front of GOD explaining himself a split second later.
If you suppose I’m crass and harsh, read this;
Eccl 12:6-7
6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
KJV
So the hell what if his body dies? At least he can’t screw us over anymore.
